Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Good local cource
Course is nice and challenging good for local people
Hello, thank you for taking the time to leave Roses Run a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Great feel
Just like scorecard says, a public course that’s like a private club.. very unique holes and variety.. friendly folks from pro shop to guys taking in carts after a round. Definitely will go back!
Great course-Mindful of when you go
Overall this was a great course that I've never golfed before. There are definitely a few narrow holes on the back 9 especially the first par 5. Do not try to walk this course if they even allow it. Some of the holes are very spread out. I am not sure if it was the day I chose or not, but it was absolutely packed. My tee time was at 12:09 and I didn't tee off until almost 1. It took 5.5 hours to golf a full 18, and I was waiting on almost all holes. They were out of carts when I got there. Overall I really enjoyed the course, but I did not enjoy the wait.
Nice course
I've played here many times. It's one of my favorites in the area. The only problem today was pace of play. 6 hours is way too long. They put a 5some out and they clogged up the course. That would be ok if it was a week day afternoon league, but not on primetime one weekend!
Just a gem
Just absolutely one of my favs ... great layout. All good till you enter “Narnia” on #12 tee :)...then ... 13... and then 14......
A total blast every time ... love it !
Track that was a track
If you are into horse racing and golf, you’ll love this course. It used to be a farm where they trained thoroughbreds. They have some memorabilia including an old starting here by the parking lot. All the surrounding streets are named after racetracks in the US. Really cool. Hole 12 is a monster and holes 13,14 and 15 are right on top of each other, but it’s a great course.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always welcome feedback for improvement. Thank you for playing Roses Run Country Club.

Slow and needs mowing
9:20 am tee time. Two groups in front of us was a fivesome, group behind us played a sixsome. Took over 3 hours to play 9 holes.
The rough had not been mowed in quite a long time and it had dead grass on top.
I always love the layout and routing of the course but nine holes should not take this long ever. No starter on the first tee and no ranger to hurry things up.
Over 80 degrees today and no water or beverage cart anywhere.
When paying $50 for two people to play nine hole you would thing they could afford to take care of these things

Prior Rain Leads To “Shaggy” Conditions
Course was made especially hard as rough and fairways could not be groomed to normal levels. Very tough conditions that will be softened considerably once it stops raining around here! Looking forward to coming back after things dry out a bit. Greens were true but not fully recovered from top dressing this’past fall I would imagine.
Hello, cigarmanraf. Thank you for reviewing the course and providing us with your feedback. As you know, with the recent rain we are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens from the water on the course. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Roses Run. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Never again
This course should not have been open It was too wet to play especially in the fairways. I will not play here again.

Some strange holes!
Considering the rain lately I was pleasantly surprised the course was playable. Having said that the fairways were very wet and had been recently cut when it was too wet to do so..Overall I thought it was an interesting layout. Holes 5, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16 will be played much differently if I get to play this course again. Finally, the green on 17 is ridiculous and should be modified. It reminds me of a mini gold hole. Considering the drive distance for me and the fact that I have to pass courses such as Fox Den to get to Roses Run it will have to be a very good del on golf now for me to make it that way again..
17 is a fantastic hole and green when we play roses. Once or twice a year we always look forward to 17. If you hit the green alot can happen especially if you play it for the right side of the green.

PUT UP SOME SIGNS!
THIS IS A LONG, CARTS-ONLY COURSE THAT WINDS THRU A HOUSING DEVELOPMENT. WE GOT LOST SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT SIGNAGE DIRECTING US TO THE NEXT TEE. ALSO, THERE WAS NO DRINKING WATER ON THE COURSE (JUST EMPTY STATIONS THAT SHOULD HAVE HAD SOME) AND EVEN THE ON-COURSE RESTROOMS WERE ALL "CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!" LASTLY, WE WERE COMING FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN AND NOT SURE HOW TO GET THERE, SO WE CALLED THE GUY AT THE COURSE FOR HELP, BUT HE GAVE US A ROUTE THAT WAS A VERY POOR ONE (AND NOT EVEN COMPLETELY ACCURATE), MAKING US LATE FOR OUR TEE TIME. WE LEARNED OF THE BEST ROUTE BACK AND IT TOOK 20 MINUTES LESS DRIVE TIME!

Challenging golf course
Extremely challenging golf course. It tests depth, focus, wind and optical illusions.
Full Disclosure - Nope!
Upon arrival I learned that it was cart-path only. Had that condition been forewarned by GolfNow, I would not have subjected our group to the course.
In addition to no forewarning, the condition was not necessary, as the course was essentially dry.
There is always an issue at Roses Run, slow play being the predominant one.

After a night with rain and its Mar 10, no sunshine and windy with temps dropping from 50 to 39, it became pretty miserable even with cart cover and a heater. But we played in March with the snow melted. Looking forward to better weather!
Hi Vernonh472! Thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back!
Roses Run
My favorite course for the money. Lots of challaging holes for risk and reward. Friendly relaxed staff. Open all year if it’s not snowing.
