About

Holes 18
Type Public
Style Links
Par 72
Length 6859 yards
Slope 128
Rating 73.3

Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

OK Round

Course was in good shape and it is a nice layout. Got behind a foursome that obviously had nothing else to do. Over 5 1/2 hours and no ranger ever.

never again

approaches hadn't been cut in a week the few fairways that were cut had piles of clippings not clumps but piles. Had to wait 20 minutes to tee off making the turn because the started was no where to be found when we teed off and no one told us we had to tee off on the back nine. The superintendent was the only one on their site without an email address (go figure) of course the general manager blamed it on the rain but every other course within a 15 mile radius was cut and not in the shape this course was in. I guess when your bankrupt you cant afford to mow the grass.

Good overall experience

Enjoyed playing the course was a good overall experience. I gave the course 4 stars for layout because a couple of holes have blind shots where it gets really tight but for the most part layout is good.

Nice Course

Nice course...I have played it several times. It was a very hot day and there is not water for the players on the course...they had cart person driving around but just we teed off at 2:30p. No rangers on course. We made the turn and group of 12 tried to tee off in front of us...no starter there to maintain the turn..

Good course. Great value

Love playing here. Great value and some tricky parts throughout the course. The par 3 #16 or #17 is the toughest hole. The course could use some better yardage markers but it is in solid shape.

Several Challenging Holes

I really like this course and play it as often as I can. Most of the time the pace of play is great, but every once in awhile it get backed up. Mostly because of those who miss their tee time and then want to go off in front of you at your time. I yield, but, I'm not going to anymore. I always abide by the rules, but I've had to get after some that I get teamed up with for violating them. One 23 yr old literally drove across the green! I yelled at him and he said, "Oh, I didn't even think about it.!" There seems to be a lot of rule violations and bad etiquette. The rough was a little knarly this time, but most of the time the course is in great shape.

What a hard time I had....

First I get over charged which was an accident but , I got a new hat out of this. Then I get out to the first hole couldn't hit the ball strait and when I got back in the cart I some how did not tighten my golf bag and it fell out of the cart and ruened some of my brand new not even a wk old clubs. I wanted to just Cray and go home but I stayed and golfed. Then the grass is so high I lost 10 golf balls just in the fairways. That was frustrating and a waste of time. I will be back to redeem myself !

a great course to play

It's been over a year since I've played, so Thursday was a real blessing! The staff seemed happy to see me, and were friendly to me. The course was a little high grass wise in the rough, but it had received a lot of rain lately. The day was just beautiful and the courses greens were very receiving. This is the course that I play the most. I enjoyed the day immensely!

POOR CONDITIONS

I’ve played there for years and this was the worst condition I’ve ever seen a course in this area be in. The fair way was LONG and the rough was virtually impossible because of it being so long since being cut. Green are brown and patchy and some holes have mud patches.... Never again.

Great course; bad greens

Love the layout: pace of play, slow at best. Waited every shot. They placed twosomes behind threes and fours.

But the greens were terrible. Bumpy, holes in the greens.

Would have been rated a five if I could’ve of putted without the the ball bouncing every time.

Hopefully will be better later in the year.

Great condition but tough

This is a well maintained course. Fairways and greens in good condition. Fast greens but don’t really roll true. There are some very difficult holes, lots of water and bunkers but fun. Was really crowded, started at 11:30, finished at 4:30!!! I blame this mostly because it was finally a beautiful Saturday, and because we have had three courses in the area close down.

Do not waste your money here if you’re not a semi-pro player

This place was a total let down. Very unwelcoming staff. I had a party of 4 with one of the members not being the best golfer in the world. We let multiple people go ahead of us and we were not taking extra long at all. The new girl once crossed the green and was told by myself that she shouldn’t do that. She did not do that again. We got a visit from the ranger who was driving down the green (lol) to tell us not to cross the green. He proceeded to watch us, so I approached him to ask if he plans on watching us the rest of the game as if we were the worst people in the world to attend the course as it is unsettling and nerve racking. This man was an old, bitter soul who barked back telling us yes he is and we can either hurry up or finish. I decided to pick up my things and leave. On top of that, we didn’t get our money back. Just a rain check after completing 4 holes. We were kind, curious and even let 2 people with less of a party go ahead of us so we didn’t hold them up. If you can save a trip, I would say don’t even waste your time with this place. Up tight, snooty people who think they are better than you and are not welcoming to new guests.
