Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

The course was great, pace of play was great, only complaint is our cart died on the 15th hole and we had to push it until we could no longer push going up the hill to the 18th m but we called and they brought us a fresh cart
Great Golf Course
It a must play course before you can appreciate the challenge slope rating won’t do it.
Nice course
First time playing, not a bad course with a few challenging holes...im sure it plays tougher during the summer...green speeds were extremely golfer friendly
Night and Day
This isn't the first time playing Roses Run. The previous outings were on weekends where rounds in excess of five hours were normal. Today, November 2nd, three hour and fifteen minutes to play a round on a course that is set up for the winter. This is a very interesting course that was night and day different from playing on a weekend..
A Gem
Roses Run is an amazing layout and facility. 3rd time and this is now in my top 3 fav' public tracks. Greens were aerated recently on front...back was healing up and it's fall but oh can't wait to come back next summer. I'm an avid golfer and have played just about everywhere... This is s true gem.
Challenging, fair,a beauty. Only complaint is poor signage from 7 green to 9 tee.Got it now but be careful... Also "the handicapper" strikes again w/ 12 as #4 handicap....please.
Put this in the rota...moving our outing here...you won't be sorry.
A good overall value.
Roses Run always has good values, and I always enjoy playing here. If this course could fix the bumpiness and improve the quality of the grass on the greens (yesterday doesn't count because it was just aerated), it would be one of the better courses in the area.
The only issue I have is that I booked a 2:40 pm time. Golfnow showed most tee times available. We were on time, paid, and at the tee box at 2:38 only to find a 2 some and 4 some lined up after no one had teed off in almost 20 minutes.. Either these groups were walk-in, or they were late, but either way there should be a starter or someone else to send us out first instead of waiting on these guys to hit every shot. The worst part is that the 2 some held back play, with the 4 some waiting to hit every shot. I'm sure these 2 guys that were taking their time shooting 100's were likely also playing the blues, but when I see multiple open holes and you are holding up a 4 some constantly, someone on staff should be aware and say something.
roses run
Absolutely the best course for the money
Challenging with tough greens
This Beauty is a Beast
Absolutely love the layout. I heard holes 12-16 will make you want to quit golf. It's challenging, but fantastic. A scenic treat on the back 9 is a bonus, but each hole is its own different test. I will definately be back soon.
Great Design
The course has great elevation design, especially holes 12, 14 , 17 & 18.
Just ok
Course was in fair shape but seemed to be a lot of grass clumps & clippings around for how dry it had been on fairways. Course was pretty easy & straight-forward with a few tricky holes on the back but overall not all that interesting.
Very Pleasant Round
Course is in pretty good condition. There are a few holes that require longer hits than my partner and I can achieve so it helps drive up the score. It was a very enjoyable round and we will probably return next year.
Fantastic Course
Look forward to playing again. Now having a familiar idea of play a few holes we will play differently. Tee boxes in great shape and greens were excellent!
Bill from Akron
Roses Run is a great track, with generous fairways and large greens. The course offers a variety of shot challenges and elevations. The staff is friendly and the patio is outstanding.
Great course and quite challenging.
Longer distances than we are used to. Played poorly, but weather great and staff courteous and helpful
Could be much better
Had played here a year ago, liked most of the holes and wanted to share it with a relative. Pace & Conditions ruined this day.
Tee Boxes (Gold): uneven, weeds and crabgrass, very long grass; #14 and #15 hit tree branches on my follow-through it was so overgrown; #13 I still don't know how i threaded the overhanging trees in an already narrow shoot
Fairways: No complaints
Rough: Uneven
Greenside: Fringe was not fringe, and made for very unpredictable chipping.
Greens: Horrible. Our entire threesome suffered all day, watching putts bounce, wobble and navigate everywhere but to the hole, save for my birdie on 18. Felt like they hadn't been rolled in weeks, and we were all easily robbed of strokes around the greens.
Pace: Waited on every shot on the front nine, which somehow included a 3-group backup on the 9th tee.
Sorry, but we don't plan on coming back.
Awful ....... gone downhill ....... a lot.
The course conditions were awful. Greens were slow. Velcro like! And bumpy. Fairways were patchy. Tees were full of clover.
Took 5 hours and fifteen minutes. No rangers. We had a specific tee time. When we showed up the "starter" (really a cart mover) told us to go get in line. What? No real starter. Could have been a free-for-all except the golfers were gentlemen. Ahead and behind us.
They should be ashamed. And I didn't play badly. These are not sour grapes. I played reasonably well.
I will not be back. A nice Brian Hundley designed golf course ruined by lack of attention to course conditions.
