Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Slow Play
I used to love this course it completely went downhill. Fairways were long, greens slow and pace of play was so slow I just left on the 13th hole. One group was playing with 6 people and no ranger in sight.
Good course for price.
One of the funnest courses to play in area. Price we paid was a great deal for 18 especially for quality of the course. Only downfall is a stretch of holes 13-15 where all the holes are next to each other and iF you don't hit a great straight tee shot on any of them you could hit someone or lose your ball. Other than that Roses Run is a fun course.
this course has been let go
I was very disappointed, I used to play here in a league and the course was decently maintained. For what ever reason they are not spending any time or money on maintenance. Greens were very bumpy and super slow. Also, we had to switch carts at the turn because we were starting to have to push up hills, as did the group in front of us. On top of everything else, no hot dogs at the turn, they were out - at 230 on the first real nice Sunday of the season! All in all, a bad experience, definitely won't be back this season.
Excellent track
I found a hot deal on golfnow, and didn't really know what to expect. What a treat this course is! We played this course in some of the toughest conditions. It was about 35 degrees with wind 20 to 25 mph, and it was a challenge.
The front is links style with very few trees. The back is quite a bit different with more slope, and more trees. I find this contrast to be another strength of the course. Each hole has great character, and specific strategy. I got the feeling that a great deal of thought went into presenting a course with plenty of challenge, and equal fairness.
This is absolutely a challenging course, but never beats you down too much. I could go on and on, but I'll finish by mentioning the unorthodox, many times, multi level greens. There is hardly a straight putt out there, but again, as a player, you feel as though you're in on the joke, and not the victim.
Not bad shape for March
Because of the cold weather, I had the course virtually to myself. Conditions were good for late March. Greens still have aeration dimples, but generally were
still good for putting. Course drained very well for all the snow that melted. The par 4's are still tough for me, but I enjoyed the day.
Always good fun
Friendly staff. Well-groomed course with some very interesting holes. Great value for the money. I really like playing here. A must try, at the very least!
bad conditions on back 9
Back 9 was in poor shape.
Needs work
slow play a lot of standing water on back 9
must of watered to long because we have not had any rain for 7 days now.
visually pleasing
I looked at photos of this course online as i do with any course i play. Those photos are way off of how nice this course is taken care of. For those that love this game should play this course at lease once. It weaves in and out of a nice housing developement so try not to spray your drives all over the course.
Cons: There are blind spots in some fairways allowing some to tee off into your group.
This course has a great layout
To shoot in the 70's on this layout you must stay out of the rough which is about 2.5 inches, hit good tee shots on hole 12, 13 and 14 and play the par 3 no.17 wisely, All of the par 5's are challenging, but fun to play.
Awesome and challenging
Front nine easier than back 12,13 and 14 will be a challenge. Cold and raining but can't wait to go back with better weather. Very interesting layout and fun to play.
Great course and has some very challenging holes.
Love to play this course. Course was in great condition with only a few areas with standing water. Bunkers had plenty of sand and for the most part the greens & fairways were in great shape. Has plenty of challenging holes for the better golfers. Small greens require very accurate shots played into them. Once you get on you'll be faced with tiered greens that will test the best of putters. You need to play well in order to score well here. Staff was very friendly as usual and look forward to coming back.
beautiful
course was in great shape from tees to greens.
very picturesque. and no one was there.
the only thing lacking was the poor service at the turn.
well worth it!
this course was very well maintained. As well as a very friendly staff and for the price you can't beat it!
Nice layout
Course in great shape, challenging yet playable, great chicken salad sandwich
Great Time
Great Course, leisurely pace of play with not rushing or pressure.
Nice Course
I have been wanting to play this course for awhile...It down poured the night before so it was cart path only...made it tough to figure out yardages. Greens pretty good shape.
Good course, bad rangers
I played 18 holes as a two-some and really liked the course, it was in great condition considering we had heavy rains the night before. They had a sign out saying "Cart Path Only Strictly Enforced", considering we were the only ones adhering to that rule from what I saw that sign was a joke. The only problem with our round and the course was the ranger/starter. He was a pretty gruff guy who I saw ride down the 9th hole cart path once never to be seen again. This was a problem because when we made the turn a twosome who wasn't in front of us had just teed off on 10 and there was another twosome waiting to tee off. I told the twosome to stand aside and let us hit because we were making the turn and he looked at me like I had two heads. We then ended up behind a fivesome that wouldn't let us play through and we waiting on every shot. In addition this fivesome was driving carts all over the place including the aprons of the green. There are a lot of morons who grab some clubs and basically act like jerks on the course, most self-respecting courses and rangers are up to the task of taking control of the situation, but obviously not here.
Mid-Week Golf at Roses Run
Great rate. Staff was great. Course was wet due to recent rains but very playable. Greens were a little slow. Rough was thick. Will be going back soon.
Rose's Run
I played with my husband who played 18 but I only played 9... the greens were in terrible shape and the fairways were not that great either!!
A real pleasure
This is one of the best golf courses to play in terms of golf and value, it is one of my favorites, I just wish it wasn't so far for me to go. They have a party on the patio with a live band every Thursday and if you tee it up around 2 or 3 pm it works out and you will be playing 18 straight into the party and you can't miss having fun.
