Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Roses Run
One of the more unique courses in town. Has a links feel on a lot of holes. Not many trees so course is exposed to the elements a lot. Greens have a lot of contour. Course is relatively short...but front side has a lot of houses. Was featured in golf digest as one of the top courses to hit a house. The back side has a lot of nice views along the river...beware number 12 the difficult par 5. The course was a race horse breeding farm back in the day. Still has the old race horse theme. Cool club house and good parties on the patio in the summer. Drive range is lacking.
Nice Course
This was a very nice course. The pace of play was really good. Fairways and greens were flawless. The course layout is appealing, particularly the 12th hole.
Failing. From the beginning. Sad.
The course has never been able to get it together. Condition is ok for a public course. Tees and greens are ok at best. Several holes are laid out with no vision or creativity. Not sure how this course stays in business. I don't know anyone that would choose the course over many others in the area. If I lived in the neighborhood and had to pay dues, I would sue the course for the pathetic conditions. Maybe someone will take it over eventually and turn it into a decent course. Step one, STOP CHARGING SO MUCH! I'll never pay more than $30 to play three. It's been a while since I've played there and I can promise I won't be back anytime soon.
quirky layout
hard to play well on your first visit, lots of blind shots, blind doglegs, target greens. fairways that end but cant see they end from the tee box. Course in decent shape. Greens shaggy and slow. sandy tee boxes. fairways in great condition. very long drives between holes. DO not try and walk course.
No way up to CC standards
Was a very challenging course But overbooked( they should of had people in 4s, all 2s) tee boxes not nice and half of red tee boxes were hard to find because horseshoes weren't red ir not there. Mostly upset about slow play 5 1/2 hours. Some tees waiting behind 4 golf carts
Part of the course was chained off??
I went to play this course on friday. Enjoyed the round but when I went to play the back nine, 3 holes where chained off. Payed for 18 hole but only could play 15. Very upsetting as they never mentioned part of the course would be locked up.
Always a good test of your skills
Enjoy this course and play often. Very challenging and you will use most of your clubs in the bag. Played a couple weeks after aeration and the greens were in good shape. Come out and enjoy the course.
Surprise
Golf now will likely point fingers and not take blame for a very unfortunate experience. The back nine of the course was closed to maintain the greens. My daughter and I each drove over an hour to meet at the course. She had never been there and I was anxious to play the WHOLE course with her. Surprise...my only option was to play the front twice! Pre paying when the facts are not revealed is not acceptable!
Course is beautiful and challenging.
Roses Run is a beautiful course and very challenging. The par 5's are a real challenge that will test your accuracy.
Course conditions present challenge
While there were a number of areas that were dried out, the course was in pretty good shape. Trouble with Roses Run is that there are several holes on the backside that offer no bail out zones and are laid out in a weird way. 12,13 and 14 come to mind.
fast
I WAS ABLE TO PLAY IN 150 MIN BECAUSE 3 GROUPS LET ME GO THROUGH. THE GREENS WERE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND SO WERE MOST FARWAYS. I ONLY WISH MY GAME WAS...LOL
Room for improvement
The coarse was in good overall condition but the greens were not cut and rolled a little uneven.
The T boxes also need a little TLC
Terrible course...
I have played Roses Run probably 10 times in my lifetime. This is by far the worst, that the course has ever been. For 30 dollars on a Tuesday afternoon at 1:15 pm, with not a sole on the golf course; I was excited to get my round started. I quickly realized why no one was on it. The course was in horrific shape, the entire course was brown, dead and as hard as a rock. I would have been mad at paying 12 dollars to play that course in that shape. To make matters worse, they sent a foursome of amateurs off the back right in front of us; who took 4 holes to let us play through. Geese had overrun the entire 18th hole and you couldn't hold a green if you tried, due to the arid nature of the course.
Never Again!!!
The track is not bad but the pace of play was horrible (no ranger or starter). The golf carts are old and need serious maintenance, several times I felt as if my life was in danger due to lack of brakes while going down steep grades (no joke)...
Additionally, no water on either 9 to drink and no beverage cart. I WILL NEVER RETURN...
Roses Run
The course and facilities were really nice. The only complaint was the pace of play. Rangers need to be more aware of this and encourage players to keep up. The scorecard even has the time it should take to play each hole. We tee'd off at 9:16am and it took almost 5hrs to play due to the slow players(who were playing best ball mind you) in front of us. I'll play the course again but earlier so I can finish in a decent amount of time.
Very enjoyable day of golf!
Greens were in excellent condition. Some challenges to the course, water, bunkers and shot placement a must. Staff very friendly. Would have liked to see a ranger on the course, some slow play with a 4 some 2 groups in front. Would have liked to see someone pushing them on. Will be back soon.
Challenging back nine
The course is challenging especially on the back nine.
Slow Play
played as a 3 some. Had a 5 some in front of us. Told one of the staff about 5 people playing together, his answer was that you can have as much as 6 players together. That was all I needed to hear. Won't be back, all of your top notch tracks do not allow more than a 4 some. To top it off , they all looked like beginners. 6 hour round, if you like a 6 hour round this is the place.
9 holes played on a soggy day
The course was in great shape for being so wet with the heavy rains we have had. Cart path only golf is a little frustrating, but that was our choice to play. Enjoyed it and I will be back.
