Great shape
The course is in great shape. So glad they re-did 5 & 6, although back to back Par 5's is pretty weird. Course is getting a lot of play, so gotta fix a few divots once in a while in your line.
Was nicer last year
Course conditions were not very good at all. A lot of bare spots in the fairways. Terrible pin placements on holes. The new par 3 green was only halfway playable. Huge dirt spots where it looked like the ground was breaking up. Slow players with bad etiquette (we were almost hit by a ball on the first green. Went in between my friends legs. No "fore" or even an apology from the guy). People had babies with them in their carts, kids running around on the course. The kicker was when I turned off the teebox and was greeted by two dogs that some local was letting run around on the course without a leash. Staff was quite friendly and it was cheap through GolfNow. May give it a try next year to see if they improve the maintenance on the course.
Great Weather and course
I really enjoy the layout especially the new holes 5 and 6. If I loved closer I would play much more often. My only issue is the new green on 5. It is close to non playable. It is new within the last two years and part of the green appears to be falling away from the rest of the green.
Awesome!
Had a nice time. Relaxed and even beat the rain after 18 holes.
Terrible fairways.
This course used to be nice years ago. Every time I go back now it seems to be worse than the time before. Fairways washed out, tee boxes don't have any grass. The one good thing of note is that they did get rid of the ridiculous par 5 that was a 8 iron tee shot. Better layout now for sure. With some care this course could come back to life but we will probably leave this one off the list for the foreseeable future.
Worse than last season
Conditions have deteriorated since last season. Greens have many more ball marks. The redesign of the fifth and sixth holes is not a plus in my opinion. Three par 3's and back to back par 5's on the same nine just does not work too well. Definetly slows down play. Would have been simpler and more cost effective to just cut down trees on the inside of the dogleg of the old fifth hole , where they put the tees for the new 6th hole, thrown in a fairway bunker in the inside of the dogleg to give players a chance to bite off more of the corner but with a little bit of risk with the bunker there to penalize you if you try to bite off too much. Also the green on the new par 3 fifth is in very bad shape, many dead spots, some of which have been patched, while most have not been fixed. Pace of play was slow, had to wait on every shot after the first hole. The Stow girls team out practicing was the beginning of the problem, with the coach out teaching on the course. Saw quite a few handicap flags on carts, another sow down there. But the biggest problem is tee times set on only seven minute intervals. This is a course that I would anytime before, but I don't think it will be high on my list in the near future
Nice course
I like that this course and driving range are just minutes away from my home and that it is well kept and clean. The many teaching pros are very impressive, knowledgeable and seem friendly enough. The price is fair, course in good condition and I enjoy the layout. The course presents a reasonable challenge and plays fair. I remember playing Blue Heron and being frustrated and angered at just how ridiculously difficult it would play at times where you’d be punished for both poor and good shots. I leave this course in a good mood having had a nice experience overall.
My main somewhat negative issue is with pace of play. At times, way too long and I blame the course management for this. The last time I was there to play with a tee time it was just to be myself and a friend. We called first and were told it was wide open and literally we were there within 30 minutes. As we arrived we noticed a bit of a surge of arriving players and while waiting our turn, overheard these players, who had no tee time, ask if they could be squeezed in? To our surprise, they were just minutes before we were scheduled. Obviously this slowed our play down in addition to irritating us. What was the point of having a tee time? Now, rather than just driving a few minutes to the course, my friend insists we try elsewhere.
And although I say the staff seemed friendly, they could be a little friendlier. Just sayin’.....
I really enjoyed golfing here. The course is in good shape, the fairways and greens nicely done, and challenging with its narrow design. I liked it.
Stay Away
Played this course a lot in the past but for the first time this year. Took me 1 hour to get thru the first 3 holes -and- the course is really run down compared to the past. Not sure what happen but it's headed down the wrong path. Hope they get it together. Oh BTW.... walked off after #3 do to extremely slow play and didn't even bother with a rain check.
First 9 great, second not so much
Course was in decent shape. Easy sailing through the first nine. When we got to 10 we had to wait every hole. Don't know if someone jumped on 10 or the course let them start on 10. Cart paths could be improved.
Great course
I went on Father’s Day. The place was packed it took a while to get off the first tee but after that it moved pretty well. The course was taken care of really well and i like the change they made with hole 5 and 6. One of the best courses I have played, Will be returning.
Great course
Course is in great condition. Had some slow foursomes in front of my group, but cant complain.
Great Early Summer Afternoon
Course in great condition, weather was ideal for afternoon golf and pace of play was better than expected .
Played as a 2-some and had an extremely enjoyable afternoon.
Decent Course For The Money
Course was in pretty good shape. Pace of play was average.
Nice layout and well kept
This is a hidden gem. Very enjoyable course to play and the staff is great!
Great course to play!
The course was in the best shape of any course within 25 mile radius. There staff is very courteous and helpful.
Challenging course
Great course. Even if you are not the best golfer in the world this course can and will give you a challenge as well as a good feeling of accomplishment when you finish your round. The greens have undulations that are very suttle and some that are very evident. The course in its self is laid out for every skill set. That said come on out to FOX DEN GOLF COURSE and experience a good day driving, chipping and putting on a well laid out and challenging golf course.
