Fox Den Golf Course

What more can I say? Keep coming back for the beauty and serenity of the course. Well kept and well managed!

This is my third time playing Fox Den G.C. and the course was in great condition, despite lack of rain that is much needed in the area. This can be a tough course to play with its tree lined fairways so if you spray the ball then breaking 90 will be difficult. We played on a very hot day but there was a cart girl out to take care of any drinks that you needed. Just a fun course to play and will be back again soon to play another round. I live 58 miles from this course or else I would play it more often.

The Staff was great, they even accommodated my 2 friends being punks and cancelling on me. The course was well kept. There were yellow jackets in just about every sand trap, but I've personally seen that a lot in the area so I wasn't all that bothered by it. My BIG issue was the pace. They let a 5 some go out in front of us (I was grouped with a 2-some, which was fine). The 5-some wasn't very good (I'm not very good either, but I play fast and stay within the etiquette for pace of play), so we waited hole after hole and it was really frustrating.

We played 18 holes on a sunny day that suddenly turned to rain at the end, but the rain didn't last long and the course was great! The staff was amazing! Wonderful snack bar with excellent sandwiches and very friendly people. It was very hot and they had ice water waiting at the turn. We will definitely golf at Foxden again!

The course is in beautiful condition. The greens are very nice. The layout is challenging for all players but quite manageable.The staff are very helpful and friendly.

Fox Den is a good muni track. Day I played there was no pace of play issue and course was in generally good shape. The one thing I found odd though was that there was no water anywhere on the course. No fountains and no water coolers. Odd that something so basic would be missing. Also there wasn't a cart girl on the course so if you were thirsty you better had hoped you had a water bottle in your bag.

Fox Den has always been one of my favorite courses in the Cleve - Akron area. Once again, the course was in great condition, especially the greens. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The course is set up to accommodate all levels of play (one of the most woman friendly around). And, not many public courses have practice facilities anywhere near the quality of this course.

Fox Den is in excellent condition and pace of play for 18 holes was just under 4 hours.

I have played at this course since I have been playing golf. 20+ years. The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. Greens are incredible right now. You won't be upset.

Friendly staff, great course conditions. My only issue was that they try to fit too many people on the course and caused us to wait every shot.

I had an 8:07 tee time on a Thursday morning, inadvertently the same time as the ladies league was teeing off on the back 9. By the time I had play the first 9 holes (80 minutes or so) and expected to make the turn, the last group of women were teeing off. The starter was nice enough to allow me to go play 17 and 18 to clear some space between them and I. However, after playing 10 and 11, I got stuck behind TWO groups of ladies on 12. So I played 18 again, and then 9 again, and then 10 and 11 again. Eventually I was able to complete the back 9 in its entirety, but I definitely will avoid Thursday mornings.

As far as the course, the layout was decent. The greens seemed to be a bit off, as I had multiple putts going right at the hole and then decided to bounce off line within the last 6-8 inches! It was frustrating!

After all is said and done, I am willing to give this course another try on a different day!

try to play this course when dry drainage is lousy

After waiting to tee off due to slow play off the first tee I was pleasantly surprised but the overall course layout (there are few odd/poorly designed holes) and the condition of the greens. The greens were in great shape having speed and rolling smoothly, something you don't always see at public courses. Speed of play became an issue as we had to wait on the groups in front of us for almost every single shot but luckily it was a rare warm and sunny April day in NE Ohio. I would certainly play this course again but need to factor in the round taking 4.5 to 5 hrs minimum to play.

Ha not played here in several years. The layout of the course forces you to use most of the clubs in your bag. Obviously this early in the season still forces you to play through some winter left overs but overall it was in good shape.

The course was fine, but one member in our foursome had to wait 10 minutes to get his food at the turn. Hopefully just an early spring issue.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the course in such good condition. The fairways were clear and the greens were great. It was a very nice experience.

I was amazed at the condition of the course. One of the best public courses in NE Ohio!!

Great course for a beginner like myself. My wife and I really enjoyed because no one followed us till we finished the last hole. ^^
I will revisit the course.

Friendly staff. There's a Driving Range, although not maintained properly. Formal 72 course. No. 5 is forced on property. Fairways are burnt out and rotted out in a couple spotted areas. Rough is hard and burnt out in many areas. Greens roll at about an 7-8. But... This is a fun course. You can shoot low and still feel challenged. I will be playing again.

I originally played this course last year and still loved it. The only problem last year was the greens were very hard and fast so if you landed a ball anywhere on the green it was more than likely the ball would just bounce or roll right off the green. Not this year. This year the greens were much softer but still very fast. Landing a ball on the green had a nice soft landing and a couple feet of additional roll. Everything about this course was fantastic this year and I hope to return again before the season is over.
