Could have been better
I was surprised to see that the greens had already been aerated on Labor Day weekend. Play was slow and they released a scramble in the middle of our round. We were on hole 6 and scramblers showed up on 1-8. 2 groups each on 7 and 8.
5 some and 6 somes
Course is in good shape and well maintained. Pro shop and bar area are very nice. Allowed 5 man groups on the course that were mostly 36+ handicappers. Waited for at least 10 minutes on every tee box watching grown men take 4-5 shots to get past 270 yards. No Marshall to keep groups moving or to keep groups of 5 or 6 broken in less than 4.
Course is good...play is slow
Honestly, the course is quite nice. I enjoy the layout and the overall difficulty of the course. However, the last few times I have been there, I have experienced major issues with slow play. Even with several groups allowing mine to play through, I still found my group waiting for a while.
Hot but great course
The course was in great condition. Thank goodness for trees for shade. Love this course.
Fun course but 5hrs and 45 min was just a little too long.
I think the title says it all. Too many drunk 4somes and not enough help from the clubhouse. Too bad. Used to be a fun course to play.
Sloooooowww plaaaay.
I realize a lot of golfers are looking to get out but you need to keep up with group in front of you. 2 hrs and 40 for the front 9 at this course is about an hour to long. Greens are fast and course is in great shape for as dry as it is. Ranger needs to be available, especially on a busy day.
Surprisingly nice,well maintained golf course.
Friendly staff and Proshop is stocked with golf equipment.
Good course,inexpensive,highly recommended
Awesome Course
This was our first time playing at Stillwater. I will definitely recommend it to other golfers. The shape of the course was amazing for this time of the year.
This course is a good one
The course was in really good shape and it was a challenging course to play!!! Awesome!!!
Tee times don't mean anything.
Had tee times for two at 122 and 2 for 130. Didn't tee off till 210. Thanks for nothing other than saving money. Course are starting to not like GN players.
One suggestion ...
There are 200,150&100 yard stakes on every fairway but the sprinkler heads aren't marked.
Superintendents have all winter to take a range-finder and a permanent marker and mark them all.
The more on course information, the better the flow and pace-of-play for all handicap players.
The amount of mature trees between holes is a selling point that could and should be marketed in the future.
Good value
Played first time on July 4th... course was full... pace of play very slow...no rangers... very nice conditions, well maintained, clean, pretty. Played the front 9 only. Holes fairly close together, but separated by trees. However, interference from golfers on other holes was frequent. Good value using Golf Now. Given the distance from Dayton, I would hesitate to drive the distance and pay the rack rate.
this is a fun course to play
The fairways and greens were in good condition and the course is set up so any golfer of any ability can have a fun challenging round.
