Diamond in the rough
Found this course on golf now never played there figure 35 dollars id take a chance. Was a pleasntly surprised, course was in good shape greens were very nice. The owners are very friendly and hospitable, being a single they squeezed me in. Little bit of a downside I was playing behind a 4 some the whole round would not let me play thru. Even tho I would catch them on ever tee box, mind you I was play 2 balls. This course has a mix of challenging and easy holes its a nice track bring your chainsaw plenty of trees. You must have control on this course. But then again if its a hot day at least you'll be in the shade. All in all would definitely play this course again.
"Karen" works here
11:40 tee time for 2 golfers we arrived 20 minutes early and were told 2 others had the same time and we were to be paired with them. There were no other golfers for 3 or 4 holes ahead. Asked if we could tee early without the other 2 which were nowhere on the horizon and we were refused. "Karen" said we were golfing at a discount and could not go off early, as if we were second class citizens. We have never had a problem at any course under the same circumstances. Don't believe we will return and hope future golfers don't encounter her.
Golf Now and this course stole 5 dollars from me
I booked a tee time on golf now on Monday for Friday tee time. I called the course before the round began and they said “Golf Now isn’t syncing with our system” which is understandable but irritating considering I was planning on playing a round that morning. it was impossible to contact golf now to alert them of the problem. Horrible customer service
SURPRISE!!!!
I had not played Pine Valley in years as it had been a cow pasture with no discernible fairways. New ownership has turned the course around and it is now a favorite. The conditions were great and its management is customer-centric. We will play again and again.
Pine Valley Golf course Wadsworth Ohio
I have not played Pine Valley golf course in Wadsworth Ohio four years. I heard they had new ownership that was making several improvements to the course and thought we would give it a try. I have to say I was impressed with what they have done the overall condition of the course and the staff. We certainly will go back!
Nice course close to home
I played Pine Valley for the first time. Clubhouse is small but the course was in good shape. I teed off at 7:30am. My partner could not attend. Course was clear until I rN into a twosome on hole 8. They only played 9 holes. When I made the turn the clubhouse person.came out and asked a twosome if I could continue on to the back nine. I also zipped thru that nine. The greens were no mowed on the back yet but the staff was very nice. I would definitely return again. The course is short with small greens but fine for this senior.
Good value. Decent course.
Short course. Good confidence builder. Very slow greens. My understanding is that the course is 100% better than it was a year ago and the goal is continued improvement under new ownership. Good value. $35 + booking fee.
Really making progress
New owners are making a lot of progress, and the course is in great shape. I play here regularly and have loved seeing the course change. Favorite place to play in the area!
Greens were nice. Fairways were all torn up, couldn’t tell difference between rough and fairway at times.
OMG DONT DO IT
Even if you find a great deal, don’t waste your time and money.
Pace of place was great because there was hardly anyone at this course.
All the greens where exactly the same, very small, round and many of them had very little grass on them. The fairways were a mess. Overgrown trees etc etc.
Needless to say we won’t be back.
Not really worth the money.
Paid $34 person for 18 & a cart. Im someone who has played a lot of golf at a lot of courses all over the country.
The pros: For a saturday mid morning round with nice weather, the pace of play was great. They also have nice bathroom and a nice snack bar inside the pro shop.
The cons: the course is not in good condition. Like really this could be a good golf course if it was better managed. The fairways are garbage. High & long patches of grass. Even the parts that werent high, still mimicked a first cut of rough. And lots of very dried out patches of dirt. The greens were much of the same. They actually could be nice greens, but a lot of patches of dirt and many that need repaired. Overall, it felt more like playing in my backyard as opposed to being at a golf course. Id say $18 and a cart here should be about $21-$24. Not $34.
Nice Improving Course
My second time playing this course, and the price was good, and from what I've been told, the course is a lot better than what it was before the new owners. There are some things that need work, but you can tell there's effort being put into the course to make it better. There are some pretty challenging holes, and some easy ones too. Lots, and lots of trees! People are friendly and it's been enjoyable playing with those I've played with these last two times. Will definitely be going back. The Price Is Right!
Work in progress
Used to play here a lot but had not played for a while. Changed hands and course had been let go. Should be fine in a couple years. Pretty rough right now. Fair deal on golf now with cart. Would not pay normal rates to play here.
Run the other direction
Saw this course for a real bargain - $15 for 18 and a cart. By far the absolute WORST course conditions I have ever played. Massive tire tracks and other ruts all over the course (fairways especially). Can’t tell fairway from rough in other spots. To make it even worse, the guy in the clubhouse has a real attitude. I’d rather stay home than play this place ever again.
Great value! If you haven't played here give it a try!
