Elks 797 Golf Club
About
The 797 Elks Golf Club, formerly known as Quail Lakes Golf Course, has changed more than its name since first opening in 1961. When the course was up for sale in the 1980s, the trustees of the adjacent Elks 797 Lodge purchased the property in order to keep a public golf course for the community. The front nine was created well before the back nine was completed. Although the two nines provide a vastly different look and feel, they provide plenty of variety that manages to meld seamlessly into a great round. The ever-changing landscape adds to the course's diversity. Mature trees and tall grasses line the fairways, making accuracy essential, and you'll also find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. There are definitely some challenges in store but with careful course management, you'll be rewarded with some birdie opportunities.

needs new manager
Don't go to this course on weekday. We tried to play 18 holes in late afternoon only to be put behind a junior group, high school match and a league all this on one side of course while other side sat empty. Let's see does that make since (NNNOOOO)
Proper management would rotate nines to accommodate other patrons not here.
Great day of Golf
Wonderful course the staff was super helpful. The greens were very fast. The only thing the course could use is better yardage markers. Over all really enjoyable day on the course. Will play this course again in the future.
Nice layout especially the par 3s
This course just needs one thing to make it great. Herbicides. Too many weeds in the fairways especially clover. Other than that it was very fun too play. Great for all levels of players.
Needs more attention
I played Elks for over 10 years. Rough isn't mowed every week, Bunkers have not been touch in months. A little tender loving care and it would be great again. Not a hard coarse but a fun coarse when it is taken care of.
good coarse for me fiance and myself
Fun day and great times and good scores and recomended.
Tree placement make this course challenging
I really like the design. Fairways could have been cut closer but greens were true. Directions on getting around the course will help likeness.
This course has 2 very different 9's.
Course was in very good condition, the greens were excellent. While the front nine is open with it's own unique challenges, the back nine is quite different and challenging in it's own right.
A somewhat challenging course
This course is challenging due to course layout, there are 2 par 3's over water, a lot of the holes have doglegs that can be cheated by big hitters. Several of the holes have trees that come into play from the fairways, and most of the greens are very tough with both uphill and downhill putts. Overall this is a good course for the money. I will definitely be playing this course again.
The 12th hole makes the course.
Cart paths need attention. The course plays about the same as in years past but surroundings look much more ruff. Had a good time and will play again.
