Elks 797 Golf Club

About
The 797 Elks Golf Club, formerly known as Quail Lakes Golf Course, has changed more than its name since first opening in 1961. When the course was up for sale in the 1980s, the trustees of the adjacent Elks 797 Lodge purchased the property in order to keep a public golf course for the community. The front nine was created well before the back nine was completed. Although the two nines provide a vastly different look and feel, they provide plenty of variety that manages to meld seamlessly into a great round. The ever-changing landscape adds to the course's diversity. Mature trees and tall grasses line the fairways, making accuracy essential, and you'll also find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. There are definitely some challenges in store but with careful course management, you'll be rewarded with some birdie opportunities.

Great bang for your buck
A nice coarse with very open tee times for any beginner or intermediate player
Decent course and excellent food amenities
It was hot and dry, so tees and most fairways were extremely hard.
The back 9 for some reason was better. Greens were in decent shape as these are watered.
I was able to get a fantastic deal through Golfnow and we had a great time. Hopefully they get some water on those tees and fairways soon.
Took 3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes. Paid for 18 but left after 9. No ranger so players were dropping balls after bad shots and too much talking o. The tee boxes when they could have hot. Played this course for many years but first time I’ve ever been disappointed ☹️.
Beginning the new spring season I did not expect it to be perfect
The course as a whole was good. The greens were fertilized with a crystal type, which when the ball ran over it you heard a click. It was not pretty to watch the ball change course, so putting was bad.
Nice course!
Course was in good shape with this time of year, only complaint was greens were very slow. Spoke with a ground screw guy and he said they were going to mow for the first time next week. Can’t wait to play it when the greens are faster. Front side has more water. Good challenge.
Average country course
Not a lot to write here except the pro shop/restaurant looked nice. The course itself was less memorable.
The course is open
This is an ideal golf course for seniors. Fairly open fairways with a few water holes. Great course for all ages. Staff is very friendly.
