Elks 797 Golf Club
About
The 797 Elks Golf Club, formerly known as Quail Lakes Golf Course, has changed more than its name since first opening in 1961. When the course was up for sale in the 1980s, the trustees of the adjacent Elks 797 Lodge purchased the property in order to keep a public golf course for the community. The front nine was created well before the back nine was completed. Although the two nines provide a vastly different look and feel, they provide plenty of variety that manages to meld seamlessly into a great round. The ever-changing landscape adds to the course's diversity. Mature trees and tall grasses line the fairways, making accuracy essential, and you'll also find strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. There are definitely some challenges in store but with careful course management, you'll be rewarded with some birdie opportunities.

Great value and very nice course
Had never heard of this course. Was actually thinking I made a reservation elsewhere. Everything far exceeded expectations. Will play this fine little course as often as possible. Thank you.
Good course... for the money
The value is where it’s at here. 20 with cart is a great deal! Fairways have issues. Lots of bare spots everywhere is unfortunate.. I believe the price brings golfers who don’t care out. Ball marks are not being repaired by other idiot players. Could be a real nice course with a little love!
Worth the price of admission (20.00), but wouldn’t pay more than that.
Could be a great course.
Elks 797 golf club in Wilmington could be a great course. We love the layout of this course., but the upkeep is horrible. Dandelion’s EVERYWHERE. Grass tall and sand traps were bad. Lost so many balls. This could be a great course if it was just taken care of properly. Very sad.
No more Golf Now
Course was o.k. ,but was overbooked, crowded , and very congested.I was told not to use Golf Now to schedule tee times in the future, so l won’t be returning!
Easy to play
First time playing course. With single carts round took just 3 hours and playing a 3 some. I will return.
Good Job this year
I love the game not that good yet but ill get there, so this course is great for players all most skillsets! Iwant to let the elks staff know how good the greens looked this year!
needs help in the maintenance dept, greens good shape, sand traps suck and fairways to hard. fringes ruff and torn up by novice detail mowing
Needs mowing and map
The fairways were not defined and never playing the course left me with no direction as to where to hit the ball. The grass was way to high it was like you were in the rough the whole day.
Great course for the price
Great place to play when you don't want to take 5 to 6 hours to play a round. We played in 3.5 hours and never really had to wait on anyone. I absolutely hate courses where it takes more than 4 hours to play because they don't have rangers enforcing pace of play or proper golf etiquette. It was awesome!
no excuse
rough was not mowed and has been dry for 3 d. No excuses- it has been wet spring but 3 consecutive dry days and mowing should have been caught up--- on a sunday. Spent more time looking for ball or LOST balls in the rough. Found a lot of balls in the rough so I wasn't the only one struggling. Played as a 2 some but still took 4.5 hrs due to looking for balls. uggggg!
Fair
Not in great shape, plus, sand traps very little to no sand in them, tee boxes not level. Alright to practice, need some tender loving care.
Great little course!
Great place for the entire family!!
Greens super , great for the novice an great place for a good player to go low!
