New York Country Club

Great course, great layout. Some really challenging uphill holes but overall fair course.

My friend and I played this course for the first time yesterday. We were met by 2 very friendly staff members and were quickly made to feel comfortable and aware of some of the clubs attributes and specials - especially for women. They were running ahead of schedule and the club had moved the 2 men, scheduled to play with us, up to the group ahead of us. The starter explained a variety of holes to us and gave us tips on how to play them. Play moved very well and the foursome ahead of us let the two of us move ahead of them, so we did not have to wait for them. Finished in under 4 hours.

The course was in great shape, except that some of the greens had weed spots, played relatively fast and thwarted our putting attempts. It may have been our inexperience with the course, but it became somewhat frustrating as we found our balls passing many holes by less than an inch and sometimes it felt as if the holes were designed to divert balls away from them, even for tap-ins.

Overall, we would like to come back to play again and meet the challenge of the vertical fairways and conquer the greens.

This is a wonderful golf course with very challenging holes and greens. There are elevated greens and hilly fairways, lots of sand bunkers and water. NYCC will challenge any level of player and for some it may be too difficult on some of the more challenging holes. The vistas from the course of the skyline are just awesome. The course was in great shape, greens rolled true, but were tricky. The rough was challenging but not impossible to get out. My first-time here and I will be returning. Just had a great time and played in 3 3/4 hours! The staff was very very friendly and that's important. I would recommend this course to anyone on the sheer beauty alone!

NYCC definitely has a CC feel beautiful layout and conditions. The pace of was also great

Overall it's a nice layout and well maintained. I went out as a single and played in a little over 3 hours in the afternoon. I'm a low handicapper, played from the back tees and felt it was moderately challenging. Good shots are rewarded. High handicappers will have a difficult time. I wish the par threes were longer from the back tees.

Fairways were in very good condition. The greens, with the exception of a couple, were easy to read.

Love thw course i wish they out more money and fix the green and bunkers

Everything is more than I expected!

Course was nice, Green was good, and Staffs are really friendly, They let me feel very comfortable to play golf. Restaurants and other facility was very clean.

I would recommend this golf course to my friends.

Not worth the cost. Conditions are poor at best. Sandtraps in terrible shape. Layout is extremely difficult.

It was Fathers Day and there was a complimentary pig roast for us at the turn.

There is a practice area with a sand trap, chipping green and a driving range (irons only) while you wait. 3 guys at the bag drop and a starter at the first tee but only one of the three guys at the bag drop seemed to be doing anything and the tee time spacing was erratic. Pace of play was the slowest I’ve encountered all year in NY/NJ (30 plus rounds on 12 courses). Better management at the start and a ranger could’ve made our 5+ hour round much shorter.

Course is in very good condition. The elevation changes on 9 and 10 are challenging. Make sure you walk over to look at the ninth green after you practice putting so you can see pin placement and tiers on the green.

I think the green fees are high compared to other course in the area that are a little better and play faster. When you’re over $100 per round there are better options. Mansion Ridge and River Vale are better options at the same price point.

I paid $60 - cart included - you are not allowed walk the course. The layout is decent but I found it reasonably short even off the back sticks. The whole course was hollotined which was very disappointing and equally disappointing was that there was no mention of this prior to my round. The most annoying thing for me as a good golfer was the pathetic yardage markings throughout the course (some barely visible) and just the 200,150 & 100 on each hole at best. Also the greens have a lot of contours and the pin placements were laughably hard and probably added a half hour to the round for most of the average players. If you’re thinking of giving this place a try I would expect the course condition to be pretty good in a few weeks. Don’t bother attempting to play here on your own it will take forever!

Very nice golf course and kept in beautiful shape. Very difficult green and fast. I will definitely play there again.

Pace of play was shocking, 2/3 groups waiting on some tee boxes! Also greens just punched and nothing said at pro shop or by starter!

Course layout is interesting to say the least. Hole #9 is a bit quirky, but fun - as the green is severely uphill. Excellent conditioning for early spring, kudo's to the maintenance crew. Greens aeriated and sanded, and although somewhat unsightly, they accepted approach shots and rolled true. Staff was extremely helpful from the bag drop through the pro shop. All were welcoming for this first time visitor. Clean, stately clubhouse with Country Club feel. Would definitely return.
