Cherry Creek Golf - The Links Course

It was our second visit to the Links. The course was beautiful, pace of play - great,. We'll definitely be back.

This course is great for many reasons. Depending on the tee box you pick it can be fun, challenging or downright difficult from the back tees. Fairways are open but traps and hazards are placed so you just cant bomb it. There other course The Woods is narrow and well treed. I like the choice's and i play them often. This time of year Cheery Creek Links is better because fewer fallen leaves on course.

The course was in great condition. The fairways were lush and green, the greens are rolled out nicely and just soft enough to be fair to a high handicap player. There are some hidden hazards that will come into play if you are not careful. The one problem for any course this time of year are the leaves. Our group lost balls that we were sure stopped rolling in the fairway. Many areas had too many leaves and were impossible to find a ball one foot off the fairway. This condition shrunk the course. We loved it.

Very nice course, well maintained and generously wide fairways. And that's the problem because, unlike the tighter Woods course across the road, this one attracts a lot of beginners and seniors. That produces SLOW rounds....Very slow the day I Played. We were so frustrated after 9 that we skipped 10 only to get behind 3 other groups to kept us waiting on every tee until the bitter end. Ranger came out but was ineffective in getting pace to speed up .Ugh!

Set out saturday morning for a round of golf with my son. We checked in at pro shop. Gentleman was very pleasant. We then proceeded to check in with the starter. He was also very nice. We arrived about 50 minutes prior to our start time and were permitted to go out early. Course was beautiful and fairly forgiving. Only issue was that the greens had just been aerated. But that is to be expected at this time of year. All in all a great day!!

Course is long, but open. Greens are challenging. Definitely would come back and play again

Greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways were too high and a lot of burnt out sections and very wet sections even though we haven't had any rain. Pace of play was awful and never saw a ranger.

Great course conditions too bad the foursome in front of us were very SLOW ruin a perfect day for us . We asked twice for the ranger to get them moving response was were playing a good pace? It's very simple if your foursome can NOT see the group in front of them and are a hole behind you are playing TOO SLOW!

One of the best courses on Long Island, love that par 6 you need to get on in 3 as a average golfer I did and 2 putted finished the day off nicely. I will be playing this course again worth the 70mile trip.

I didn't lose my ball over 18 holes, though it was often in the trees. I could always find it.

The long entrance to the parking lot is lined with beautiful trees and flowers and was quite impressive. The course was just as impressive. Well manicured fairways and greens you would find at any country club. I arrived with a threat of thunderstorms in the area so it wasn't crowded at all and pace of play was quick. Wide open links style allows for some mistakes but there is some hidden trouble. Nice layout and design. I got a great deal thru golfnow and felt like I was treated " less than" but hey, it introduced me to the course for the first time and I will probably return and pay full price next time , so cheer up a little bit. Lol.

Played here on a golfnow hot deal. Weather was raining and windy but the course held up. Some challenging part for his along with a reachable in three par 6 hole 18. Round took just under 3 1/2 hours. Course got crowded as weather got better. Nice course and well-maintained. Will golf here again soon

The fairways and rough were in great shape. Minimal divots, well maintained. A few of the greens were choppy and needed to be reseeded (hole 8).

It's a step up from the local county courses. But for the simplicity of the course (not a lot of challenges) it's overpriced for the beginner and to simple for the intermediate golfer.

Would not recommend.

Good pace of play. Greens, fairways and tee box in good shape after snow mold issues.

Overall very nice course, there was no starter & the guy in pro shop had zero personality.. Didn't eat there so have it a 3 for middle of road.
Otherwise great place

fairways were good, greens were in need of attention and they were not cut or rolled. Sand traps were terrible, thousands of rocks in most of them. They need to be screened.price on golf now was good would not pay the standard price for this condition.

I found this course to be nothing special. All the holes are straight down the fairway and sand traps protecting the greens. No real skill required except you must be able to hit the ball a long way off the tee to be able to get on the greens in 2 (par 4's) and 3 (par 5). The par 5's were typically in the upper 500 yd range, making it difficult to make even par. The 18th hole is a joke - 600+ yds par 6.
There was no starter and no ranger on the course. I frequently saw older players driving right up to the greens to putt.

I highly recommend the Woods course across the street. Much more interesting and challenging!

Always enjoy playing Cherry Creek Links, as you drive in the entrance, it reminds me of a high end southern course. The beautiful flowers bordering the roadway are very nice. the course was in great shape with all of the greens and fairways perfectly groomed. i love the course, and would play it every chance I can. The staff is always pleasant and efficient and this includes food.

Course is in great condition and the cart are clean and fairly new
