East Side Low Scores
I broke 80 for the first time on this course. I also drove a par 4 green with a soft driver. About 3 to 4 par 4 greens are reachable in 1 for the above average distance player with great accuracy. Many of the hole are up hill or down hill. Position is key and landing in the rough is not necessarily bad.
Great Course/Great Price
Glendoveer is a great place to play. They have two courses and each one is a little different from the other. The course is in good shape. Short distances from greens to the next tee box, but the course is hilly overall. It’s my favorite public course in Portland.
Slow but Awesome 88
9 pars and I shot an 88 because the greens are firm and the pin placements make a short course into a tough course. Never hit past the pin so you have a makable up hill pinner.
Slow but fun twilight niner
About to tee off at 5:54 and two cartloads of tournament players come barreling around the turn from their shotgun start incredulous that we are about to tee off. They are the final group and they play ahead and they’re good so we never see them again because for some reason we are a fivesome.
Course was in great condition, playing partners were super nice, bunkers were everywhere! I only played nine, but I bet the others got in another 3 holes before dark. And the price was absurdly low.
Great Public Course
My second time playing the East course. Even after a couple days of rain, the course was in great shape. Pace a play was a little on the slow side - but it was a holiday. Took just over 4 hours. The course is a challenging 18 holes. The East course is definitely more difficult than the West course. I would recommend.
The bbq at the brewery smelled amazing. Wish I had time to grab a bite.
Got Sand?
The course right now is probably in as good a shape as it gets. That is, except for the bunkers. Man, you never know what you're going to get. Even when it looks like there's sand, you're better off trying to pick the ball out, much like a shot from around the greens. I like both courses and have no complaints about anything else.
Summertime playing in June
Near 90 and the course is in beautiful condition. The greens were not particularly fast but firm. The fairways are trimmed and almost completely weed free. Great place to play again and again.
Fun Course
6 par 5s. Lots of hills. Some unique hole layouts. Forgiving course with wayward tee shots. Really like this course.
Pace of play
They could do a better job speeding up the play. Had to wait an average of 5 minutes from holes 1 through 9. They have starters but where are the marshalls? Marshalls really help keeping the pace of play good for all players not just the slow ones.
Perfect
Came to the first tee and no one was in front of us. The day moved along at a tremendous pace we established and we enjoyed a beautiful day, fantastic course and good scores! This is what we have been waiting for, get out there soon and you will not regret it!
