About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Cart Fees
20$ per golfer to use cart is excessive! I’ve gone out as a single having paid the 20$ fee and had starter strap on another golfers clubs who was “walking” to my cart free of charge! So if you and playing partner both ride in same cart why does it cost 40$ for that cart? Doesn’t need to be, 10$ each sounds about right. Greens are in great shape and taken care of compared to 2 other public courses on Staten Island. Yes it’s wet and tight in spots but very enjoyable while challenging at same time!

It's Always Something
The last two times I was at Silverlake, they overbooked the course and we waited in line at many of the tee boxes. This time we get to the first tee box and we are informed that the back 9 is closed so we will have to play the front 9 twice. I think they should have a discount for this and at least tell us before we pay for a full round.

Nice course, well kept.
Tight layout, some tough greens often in very good shape. Back nine tends to be wet on 10, 13, 15 & 16. Greens fees are a bit high for a public course.

Conditions very good especially greens but needs some contour and bunkers upgrades. Service before and at turn sucks

Plays long and sweet for a shorty
This course rocks. I'm about at bogey average golfer. This course is great. Well kept greens, everything. Even though it's only 5,000 yards (or so my friend told me) it plays long. Several par 5s. The par 3's are long too and some of them are over big water and cat tails. Exciting stuff. Hilly course too, which are my fave. Nice parking lot. Full bar. All pros no cons, baby.
