About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Silver Lake is awesome for NYC!
One of the top 3 courses in the NYC area that I have played - Played an early Friday morning round with two buddies and we all shot extremely well all day. Will def be coming back for early rounds before work!

Staten Island’s gem
Started coming down here last fall but first time on a weekday and is even better without the weekend crowds. For midsummer, greens and fairways in great shape. Tee boxes and maintenance overall very good. The food and service out at the grill and inside is always fast and very friendly. Definitely worth the trip passed dyker and other public courses we usually play in queens to visit silver lake.

Old muni still has character
Rough around the edges, this public course still offers plenty of challenges. Elevation changes on almost every hole and some holes are very narrow! Greens were in good shape and running well. Nice clubhouse but didn’t see anyone eating, just drinks.

Disappointed
The course was not in a good condition, fairways look beat up, pace of play was snail pace. Balls we're coming at me from every direction when on the tee boxes. Just a poor layout or just poor players. I won't play here again.

Slow pace
Took us 3 hours to play 9 holes. Left after that. Started at 9am on Sunday. Either go during the week or at 6am on the weekend, it’s overbooked otherwise.

Nice course
Over all I had a great experience. It wasn’t overly crowded, so the pace was really nice. Some of the fairways get a little tight so you might have a few people playing their shot off your fairways, but everyone was nice about waiting or hurrying through. Again overall I had a great time.

Pretty Brutal
5 and a half hour round, no ranger on the course to be found maintaining pace. Lots of errant shots flying all around you, the course is tight and tee boxes are ontop of greens. Nearly got hit about ten times today. Price is reasonable if you’re walking, but charging $20 per rider is a bit ridiculous for an average course at best.
Green speeds played very inconsistent hole to hole.

Most enjoyable round
831am tee time and the most enjoyable 4.5 hour round I’ve had in years. Pace was good, course is in good condition, starter gave all the necessary pointers, and a nice clubhouse for the beginning and end. 5/5 stars
