About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Good course but poor pace of play
Meant to tee off at 7:20am, ended up being 7:25am. No biggie. But then to have a 5 hour round, ridiculous
Locals and Americans need to improve pace of play. A round should be no longer then 4hr 20mins, max

I have been playing Silver Lake for the past several years.. Doug and his crew do an excellent job in maintaining the course.
The fairways are well maintained and the greens are always free of debris.
We have never had difficulty booking a tee time.
Pat(in the trailer) does an excellent job sending golfers out. She is efficient and courteous

Double booked
Had a prepaid tee time through golf now and we couldn’t get out because course was double booked.. terrible wate of time with no competition at all .

Best Public Course If You Live in Lower Manhattan or BK
Better than Dyker. Closer than Van Courtland. Easier tee times than Skyway
Weekend play
$60 without cart, $20 for cart seems avg price on ok to good courses.
Conditions were good. It’s fall so plenty of leaves on ground, could use a clean up.
Only complaint is pace of play.
9am tee time, started about 935, had about a 5:35min round. Very slow pace of play and No ranger enforcing pace.
Besides that, not bad for a course outside of LI.

terrible management
We played Labor Day morning. There was a early golf outing that ran late. Management clearly couldn't figure out how to run an outing and plan for golfers after. We had a 9am tee time and didn't get out until 10:30. A complete fail on what could have been an enjoyable round.

There is a definite need to put out rangers to move everyone along , the pace of play is terrible..

Unusual circumstances, both the other public courses were walking only after remnants of Ida dumped 8+ inches of rain on Staten Island Wednesday extremely busy, front 9 in great shape back not so good. Snails pace of play due to amount of golfers. Lot of “ duffers” out there balls all over the place, just happy to be out there but 6 hours to finish was tough. 20$ fee for cart per golfer is excessive, bottom line. Better than work and good start to holiday weekend!
