Silver Lake Golf Course

Nice overall course, which is in good condition. Carts are in good condition with usb chargers. Bar cart comes around frequently, in addition to the full bar / restaurant at the club house. Course layout is a little tight at times. They could space out tee times more to prevent waiting but overall good course

Went to play with a group of beginners . The staff without saying a word to us previously told us not to come back because we were taking too long.The course was ok, average at best and with the rudeness of the staff they will not get my money or my recommendation ever again.

First time ever leaving a review because of how slow the pace was at this course. 5 hour and 45 minute round is just absurd and shows they either don't know how to book properly or don't know how to manage the pace of play. MY guess would be both. 4 group backups on tee boxes were very common so I got to talk to a ton of people!

This was my 3rd or 4th time playing Silver Lake and I am always pleased by the round’s end. Started at noon and there was a lot of waiting involved, typical of almost any city course. Right now they’re aerating the greens which can bode for unpredictable putting. At the same time, the layout is short but nice with some elevated tee boxes and fairway undulation and average lengthwise when played from the tips. Overall, a good course for the price and the convenience and will return in the future.

Kudos to Doug and his staff. At long last the back nine has lost the flooding that has been present for years.

Way over booked 5 1/2 hour round with a 20$ cart fee, used to be my favorite course in the area now not so much

Started 10 minutes behind our tee time, which isn't horrible. But pace of play from there was atrocious. Waited at least 10-15 minutes at each hole. It was already 3 hours and we were only hole 8. I am a city golfer so i am accustomed to waits but this was egregious. At the turn we found THREE groups waiting to tee off still. If we kept at it we would have been on track for a 8-10 hour round. We found the first hole opened so the starter let us tee off there again. We cruised through the first 3 holes only to find another RIDICULOUS back up at hole 4. There were 3 groups backed up and 4 hours in we just gave up.

In terms of conditions was told the greens were aerated over a month ago and not to worry about their conditions. Got there and they were more sand than green. Over all very disappointing experience. Better off taking an extra 20 minutes to travel to a Jersey course - can actually golf a full round for the same price!

Course is in decent shape for an NYC course and it was packed on Sunday. Greens were still sandy and recovering from aeration, but they should be looking good in a few weeks time. A couple holes on the back 9 have some fairways in pretty rough shape just due to being in low spots and collecting water but you can see that the course is working to grow grass and get better drainage in these areas. Since many holes run next to each other, there tends to be some crossover between folks trying to get back on the correct fairway, but it's early in the season so everyone is still brushing off the rust.

I’ve played this course so many times and I used to think it was the time of the season that effected the course conditions. But I’m realizing it doesn’t matter what month it is, the course always seems to need work. That being said it’s not in horrible condition. BUT $70 !! I don’t think I’ll be back. I’d rather pay a toll and drive 45 min to NJ courses.

I played the back 9. Holes 14-17 were way too muddy and it always seems to be like that.

Staten island golf has become a real shame. So much potential, so little TLC. This course has never handled water well- so I can forgive that. However the greens and tee boxes need a ton of attention over the next weeks to consider this course playable. I will be back, but hopefully to better course conditions
