Silver Lake Golf Course
About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Might return
Pace of play was horrendous. Had a noon tee time, had to bail after 16 holes , 4 hours and 35 minutes into the round,
It was an overcast day, course was wet in spots after earlier rain- course was packed despite less than ideal weather.
Biggest issue - cart paths, so broken, so bumpy so bad
Conditions good. Take a cart
If golfing in temperatures above 85 with high humidity take a cart even if playing 9 holes
The course is hilly and will wear you out especially if you are a senior.
5.5 hour round
Ranger did nothing to address pace of play, happens often. Would not recommend.
Pace of Play
Embarrassing slow pace of play of the women’s club .
Too slow…
We finished 7 holes in close to 3 hours. They are over jamming the tee times- completely unacceptable
Fore !!
Course is great shape. Gotta keep your head on swivel with all the errant shots and people screaming Fore. No GPs on carts. Slow play on the weekends to be expected. Great staff. A young kid named Joe was very helpful in the pro shop.
Help?
We didn’t get to play the high school kids we’re having a tournament they canceled my tee time and golf now charge my card I’m disputing the claim golf now need to be more involved other than charging our credit cards who is responsible for this silver lake says not them
Good groundskeeper’s matter
Shout out to groundskeepers, course in great shape! They do good job of moving tee boxes around so that the ground doesn’t get chewed up. Greens 🥬 also running true. Keep up the hard work👍
Best NYC but…
6 hour round and no ranger patrolling to pick up pace of play
Silver lakes review
Nice course, friendly staff, tough walking course especially on front 9 with lots of hills
Best course on Staten Island
Silver Lakes is IMO the best track on Staten Island, fun course to play with some challenging holes but can certainly shoot low if you manage play properly. The only thing I can really knock this course for is pace of play. Not sure if they need to eliminate some tee times or have a couple extra rangers patrolling the course to make sure people aren’t taking a year to hit their next shot.
Bottom line: Great course (Covid pretty much killed value with demand for golf increasing) good amenities, fun atmosphere, BUT don’t tee off after NOON or you won’t finish 18 before it gets dark
One of my favs in 5 Boros
Course is well maintained- greens roll true. No range, small putting area- well run facility. Nice old warm charm including bar and dining area
Only thing missing...
There's no driving range to warm up for the round. Heads up on other golfers from the other tee boxes, a few ball landed within 5 yards of where My friends an I was standing out on the fairway. Overall, the course is challenging, currently aerating the greens but in good condition compared to other public courses. Will definitely play at this course again soon I hope.
