About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Good bang for your buck
Enjoyed the course and I will be back. I’d recommend an earlier tee time. I played mid afternoon and it took close to 6 hours. We waited at hole 5 for 20 minutes.

Good conditions and greens!
Course was in good shape compared to many others in NYC. Greens were firm and ran true. Only “complaint” is very bumpy cart paths, which honestly wasn’t an issue for me but was something a playing partner mentioned multiple times. Worth the ferry trip out to Staten Island, especially on a nice day!

Torture
Played here yesterday. 5 1/2 hour round. I know people pay money and want to play golf but taking 3 tee shots on every hole just isn’t right. There were no rangers to be found. Course is in decent shape, better than any other course on Staten Island, but $77 to play and add to that a 5 1/2 hour round makes it torture. Go to jersey.

Standard close to the city public trek
Greens were slower than molasses. Par 3 teeboxes were mauled (played in Sept to be fair). We teed off super early which was great because the seniors were out in FORCE by 8 AM

Worst course
The worst place ever. Lady checking us in was super rude and clueless.
Teed off an hour late. Everyhole is on top of each other, almost got hit couple of time from next hole over. I dont know why it has 4 stars, I would give negative if I could.

Great Course!
This was a hidden gem for us. Just a few minutes away from Bayonne. Well maintained, friendly staff and absolutely loved their outdoor grill! Can’t wait to visit again soon Thanks for a great experience!

First time at Silver Lake
Overall this was a good course. The pace of play was exceptionally slow, but had a good time regardless. Definitely have to be careful of cross play from other tee boxes into your fairway and vice versa. On at least five of the holes I had a ball land within 15 yards of my game.

ONLY GOOD PUBLIC COURSE ON STATEN ISLAND
Thank you for keeping this place in great shape and not using covid as an excuse to let the place go to crap like others. Played at south shore today and it was complete GARBAGE. latourette, I drove past and actually laughed at how terrible of condition it was in. DO NOT PLAY ANYWHERE ELSE ON STATEN ISLAND BECIDES SILVER LAKE. YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED.

Great friendly staff and nice course
The staff was very friendly and nice. Each cart is cleaned nicely after each round. We saw the starter cleaning a cart and then he gave that cart to us which was great. The pace was very good. Front 9 are better than the back nine. The back nine has too many water issues. Lots of muddy spots. It was probably intensified due to rain last night. They need to rope off certain areas from cart access which was not done and made it worse. It definitely is in much better shape than the other two courses on Staten Island. It is well maintained other than the water issue which is hard to control especially if streams are running through the property. I would play it again but not after a night of heavy rain. Outdoor food and drink service was available too

Great course if you like driving greens if you can hit 300+. Staff was friendly and was a great time.
