About
Silver Lake Golf Course sits along Staten Island's North Shore, offering a scenic and challenging layout that is one of the five boroughs' best-kept secrets. The course has a classic layout with postage stamp-sized greens and narrow fairways. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the golf course appears shorter than it plays. The tight layout demands accuracy throughout especially on the lengthier holes, of which there are several. The course offers interesting risk-reward opportunities and holes 12 through 14 are considered by locals the "Amen Corner" of the North. The entire layout will test your shot-making abilities. In addition to the challenging round, Silver Lake is known for having consistently excellent conditions with some of New York's best greens, which is why it has garnered a strong following among local players.

Well Worth the Drive for a Drive (off the tee...)
I live in Stamford, CT and a friend who lives in the UES of NYC suggested we go and play this course. The entire staff was really friendly and accommodating. They were able to get us off a little earlier than our scheduled tee time because another group didn't show up. Which was great!
The course was in excellent condition. I was very happy with the tee boxes, the manicured greens, and even the fairways and rough were both cut quite nicely.
I would definitely come back. And would recommend playing this course for beginners to even more advanced.
Great Course
Course is in great condition considering the times. The layout is fun. With both long challenging holes as well as some fun shorter holes. The people are also great with a grill to get something to eat at the turn and when you finish your round. Highly recommend playing this course.

Very good conditions
I was pleasantly surprised at what good shape the course was in, the management/staff obviously took care of the course during the covid shutdown, the other public courses on the island should be ashamed of what they allowed to happen during the shutdown.
3 of us finished in just under 4.5 hours, that’s with a slower group in front of us and us not playing our best. The homemade ball retrieval system (so you don’t touch flag) was very inventive.
I finally did on hole 10, the quagmire past the creek was gone!!!!

Great little course but overcrowded.
Our group was hit by a golf ball. People on this course are very impatient even though there are so many groups in front/behind.

Not a Good Impression SI
Unfriendly and confused staff from the onset. Caliber of patrons very stereotypical of Staten Island. Music playing in their carts. Hitting into you. Extreme amounts of aggression.
Now to the course. Probably has any been watered in months. Rock hard bare to the bone fairways and greens. Awful cart paths and weeds everywhere in the fairway.
Some interesting undulation but all in all not worth traveling to and playing if you don’t live in some of the unfortunate housing surrounding the course.

Course is in Great Shape! Well Kept. Staff very friendly and helpful as well! Course is by far the best kept public course on Staten Island this year.

Fun course
I played on a Sunday morning..pace of play was great..the course was in immaculate shape..I’ve played 5 different courses since the reopening this one was by far in the best shape and most fun.. the staff is excellent and I believe that the course layout and tight fairways improves your golf game..I would highly recommend
