Pocono Hills Golf Course
About
Surrounded by the Pocono Mountains, the Pocono Hills Golf Course (formerly Fernwood Resort & Country Club) was carefully carved from wooded hillsides. Condos and other residences were later built near the golf course and although they are situated quite close, the round is still enjoyable. The layout is tight with narrow fairways that are lined with trees. The front nine is easier than the back where more dramatic elevation changes come into play. Many of the greens have elevations of over 50 feet, making approach shots a formidable test. There are also a number of tricky doglegs that are practically 90 degree turns. The layout rewards straight, accurate drives and the greens putt fast and true. There are a number of challenging holes, especially the 10th and 14th, but overall Pocono Hills Golf Course is approachable enough for all skill levels.

This course is enjoyable to play
A challenging but rewarding course with some long par 5's. Went there day after what seemed like ten days of rain. Course only had a few wet spots, fairways were dry. Drainage was good. Pro shop could of been better equipped but that's no problem. Staff there was amazing and friendly. Overall a great place and definitely will be back!
Pocono Hills Golf Course
Great layout
Nice Fairways
Nice looking greens
Tee boxes for Red could be better . I played from the Red as they do not have Senior Tees .
Great staff
Great value for the money
Pocono Hills Golf Course
Overall in great shape . Ladies tee boxes could have been in better shape . I played from the ladies tees as they do not have Senior tees here . Fairways and Greens were in great shape . Sand trapd need to have softer sand in them . Overall , a great course for the money . Excellent restaurant attached to the golf course . Called the Warehouse .
Blind shots
Good thing we played with someone familiar with the course. Too many blind shots
Had to wait 20+ minutes, for hotdogs, at the turn
Early spring
Early spring golf . Thank god someone bought some rakes for the sand traps. Fairways still stiff and needs fertilizer. Slow play on Saturday due to bad golfers. It’s better during the midweek.
Pocono Hills midday
I play here often, always in goo shape. The only issue is it's no cash and management is non existent. Regular staff is good but no one has any real golf experience. I love to just come and play so no need for help but would be nice for others. I have been playing this course for over 30 years.
A fun, challenging layout of holes.
Very fun and awesome layout. Would love to play this place in the summer. Greens and fairways were pretty pure and it’s fall. Very tight though. But it’s a fun challenging course nonetheless. Definitely recommend giving a try.
Great value, search for deals
Overall great value for money, that alone was worth it. Greens were well maintained.
Horrible course conditions
We had an 8am tee time.. the staff didn’t show up until almost quarter after 8. We paid and were ready to go tee off when we were informed there was a frost delay. Couldn’t tee off until 9:30am. When asked about a refund they said nothing could be done. There was no where to go and wait. We had to stand in the parking lot or sit in our cars!! At 9:30 we were informed had to wait 15 more minutes to tee off. When we finally teed off the course was absolutely covered in leaves!! Piles of leaves on the fairways!! Looked like they were blown there!! For 65 bucks I feel it should have been taking care of way better
Great Day For Golf
Great Day For Golf is a reference to the weather and playing partner only. A 5 + hour round of golf at this time of year is inexcusable. Two foursomes and a twosome in front of us had to use range finders for ever shot. Multiple looks at every shot from all their playing partners on and off the greens. These guys emulated what the pro's do on TV. From my vantage point watching them tee off and putt, I doubt if any of them were shooting in the 90's. Golf etiquette course's should be mandatory, especially pertaining to cart placement for exiting the green, ready play to speed up play and overall awareness of other golfers on the course.
I ran into the Course Superintendent
while waiting on one of the hole, asked him about 17 - 20 minutes we waited between several hole's, he told me there was no Course Ranger to manage play that day.
Great Value, Great Day
18 holes with cart for under $30...with a couple nice views, can't go wrong. Elevations, sloped fairways, blind tee shots, super challenging for a hack like me. But, it was a beautiful day, no pressure, no worries. Don't miss The Warehouse after your round...Transfusion buckets? Yep.
Sloping fairways. Must play strategic golf.
Wow! A challenging sloping course.
A lot of fun to play if you play strategically a use the slopes.
