Mayapple Golf Links

A January round of golf is likely to be an adventure. This entire round was played in heavy fog so even the vistas of Mayapple were not viewable. We managed to find our balls after every shot and enjoyed the round for what it was Two old fogies playing in the fog.

Greens were like putting on pavement, terrible. Their cart paths were so under maintained that it damaged a tire on one cart. So what do they do? Instead of sending a manager to discuss what happened, they send a maintenance guy who was blatantly rude, unprofessional, then blames us for the damage. Never in my life will I step foot on that course again......go to the Carlisle barracks.... nicer. Cheaper, friendlier

It has been 10 years since I played last. They have done some good upgrades and renovations to the course. Always played here whenever I came to PA. Glad to see it is holding up so well. Look forward to playing it again.

Nothing private about this course. Not even a porta-jon to be found. Very flat good course to walk if you don't mind walking thru the neighborhood. Did not like the 18th hole if you hook left your in the highway surprised there wasn't a net to protect the cars.

This is my 3rd time playing the course this year. Each time I like a little bit more.

Some tee shots can be a little tight due to housing on both sides of the fairways but they are wide enough where it shouldn't be a major problem.

Most of the greens are tiny. If you approach from the wrong angle it can be nearly impossible to hit and stay on the green unless of course you spin and stop shots, something of which I do not do normally.

On this day the greens were aerated, making putting difficult. I'll blame my best chance for a birdie of about 2 and half feet away on the holes I had to putt through.

PLay was slow, especially early on. I think that they sent too many golfers off at too quick of an interval. After a while it got better. At 4 and a half hours I can except that pace on such a nice day that I was playing fairly well.

The Golf Now hot deal and my use for 20+ rounds of golf made the course well worth it.

I always enjoy playing this course. The course is challenging and the restaurant/pub is really nice with good food and friendly service!!

Enjoyable afternoon round of golf with friends! Elevated greens, bad day to not have your chipping to be on! But, all in all, I walked away with the bragging rights!

The course will work your short game as these greens are small.

Played here on a rainy Thursday afternoon, so no problems with pace of play. Walked 18 in 3 hours.

Course is pretty straightforward. I won't say "boring", although there are a lot of "driver, 7-iron" holes, including back-to-back "same hole, different direction" par 4s at #6 & #7. The first two front nine par 3s are a bit too long for the average player, in my opinion, especially when the wind is blowing (it usually is, here). Not a lot of 'forced carry' shots, so a pretty good course for beginners (although long, so play from the correct tees).

Great bar/restaurant at the clubhouse for after your round, including a patio with views of the 18th. Always good food, with good service, and they have a nice "Special" every day.

Considering the course conditioning and all, this is a GREAT GolfNow value, especially if you can take advantage of a Hot Deal rate.

Mayapple provides a great open course to challenge your game and mine as well. Everything is in excellent condition including tee boxes, fairways, traps, and greens. After you complete your round you MUST eat their as well. The wings are banging and I experienced a world class burger. The menu is solid with even vegetarian items. If your in the area, stop by play this with your boys or girls.

Average course, greens are very well kept! Shot -1 69, course plays easy.

Course was in really good shape considering the drastic weather we have had over the last month(a lot better than most of the courses i have played in the last 3 weeks) A great course for any skill level. Trees really dont play into your round except for a few spots. Tall grasses are the major hazard on this course. Only the par 3 17th brings water into play being as it is an over-the-water chip.(water is in play on 16 if you go left of the green)

Broken or missing ball washers.
Uneven tee boxes.
Hard to tell fairway from rough.
Cart paths are a mess
Landscaping overgrown at some places.

The greens are in good shape, medium speed and running true. There were some patchy areas in the fringe around some greens. The fairways could use some work as there were patchy spots as well. The rough was a little long and was challenging. Good course for walking. Overall a good experience on an average course.

Rode 18 with a buddy and had a great time. We were paired with another twosome and, after a slow start due to a back-up at the first tee, it opened up and we had an enjoyable round. The course was in nice shape and played true to how I expected it to play. Definitely worth paying $17 to ride 18!!

Can't beat their after 12 special for full ride at $22. Very nice course, some challenging fairways but par 3's are easy and intermediate golfers should par them. Will play there again for sure.

Started on time and and course was very well maintained. Ranger checked with us a couple of times to make sure play was moving at a good pace. Me and my wife met John on the course and he played with us. He was a good person to play with and we enjoyed our day. We ate at the club house after play and the prime rib was awesome! Would definitely recommend this course for a great golfing experience!

Very windy but other than that it was a great time! Course was in good condition, workers were friendly, and pace was pretty quick.

We arrived at the course a little early. We ended up starting on hole 10 behind 3 other 4 somes. We waited for 10 minutes after our tee time to complain. Pro shop attendee ended up letting my group eventually start on hole way which did end up decreasing our playing time. Beautiful Course for the price!
