Ambassador at Hickory Valley Golf Club
About
Hickory Valley Golf Club boasts two 18-hole, regulation-length courses, named the Ambassador and the Presidential. The Ambassador Course is the shorter of the two at 6,450 yards but it still offers a fair test. The classic layout is routed through towering hardwoods forests that stretch to over 70 feet high. The tall hickory trees loom over the fairways. The small greens are sloped back to front, presenting a challenge for even the most seasoned players. Water hazards come into play on several holes and there are a few tricky doglegs to contend with. The bunkering is minimal but the abundant trees will be enough to keep you on your toes. The golf course has some challenging holes but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Presidential Course Wonderful on a Sunday Afternoon
Played the Presidential course and it was in very good condition - well maintained. It was a beautiful day and we had groups in front of us and in back, but it was not overcrowded. The only thing I would ask them to improve would be adding yardage markers in the fairways (I didn't see any, but luckily I had a GPS). The rates can't be beat and everyone is friendly!
Not bad
Good value for the money. This was a fun course in pretty good condition.
Great challenging greens, with long dog legs, perfect for an experienced golfer!!
Hickory Valley has never disappointed me when it comes to a well maintained challenging course. No matter which course you play, either the Presidential or the Ambassador, your going to find yourself on a players course with many decisions on how to play your shot! Impressive par 3's and beautiful layouts of the longer holes. Even better then how the course plays and looks is probably the price. This is one of my favorite courses to play that's always under 50 dollars, and to top it off; they have a driving range to warm up with!
After playing both courses, the presidential was better conditioned with more character
I played both Ambassador and Presidential. The Presidential had more character and was in better condition. It has a fun design. There regular prices are high but Golf Now made it affordable. I would play there again but only through Golf Now.
Better than average public course
Played Presidential course, which as a public course, is somewhat more challenging than most and has a few pretty interesting holes. Despite statements from pro shop and a hot day, beverage cart was nowhere to be seen or found even though no drinking water available on course and course snack bar was closed. "19th Hole" food/beverage area nothing to write home about. Course does not accept Victory Golf Pass, which is a negative and makes the course relatively pricey in relation to conditions and amenities. Pace of play was adequate, although my partner and I did have to play through a couple other twosomes. Course maintenance was a little spotty, although adequate overall. Quite a trek from northwest Philadelphia where I live.
