Macoby Run Golf Course

Nice course, need to drive it well, many trees and blind shots. Fun track, used to play it often when I lived close by. Will ply again when I’m back this way.

We played in a little under four hours which I think is excellent on a public course. The fairways are in better shape than any course we have played this summer but some have some spotty problems. The greens are excellent with one or two par threes having a problem. Otherwise conditions would rate five rather than four stars. The staff is friendly and the food is good. The course presents some challenging holes with elevation changes and a few small greens.

Pace of play could have been better but it also could have been worse. We skipped half of the third hole because the twosome in front of us were so slow and playing two and sometimes three balls. After that the pace was OK. Course conditions were excellent compared to other courses we have played. There is grass in the fairways where many other courses are having difficulties this year.. Check in Lady was friendly and helpful. Hot dogs at the turn were great. The course layout is interesting and devoid of bunkers. A feature that you might enjoy. The dinning room is clean and affords a nice view of the practice area.. We enjoyed excellent BLTs for a reasonable price. It was a good day and worth the drive.

This was my 1st time at Macoby. I loved the challenging course but it was ruined by a 4 some behind us. Their bad behavior included loudly talking while the party ahead was hitting off the tee, urinating out in the open at hole 9 when there are bathrooms a short distance away and hitting on to the green while the previous group was still putting. I wish the course had a marshall driving around so we could have mentioned the other group's behavior because the other group wouldn't stop after we asked them to follow basic golf etiquette. We had a great time when we allowed the other group to pass us after hole 10. Again, it was a great course with part of the day ruined by other golfers who don't know or care about the rules.

Very forgiving fairways, beautiful scenery and amazing hot dogs!! You cannot go wrong with that. I will be coming back

Nice place. Course was in good shape. I think it has enough character and challenge.

When it comes to bargain courses, Macoby Run is my go-to. Hills, Tree lined fairways, and consistent greens make your round just difficult enough without it being difficult. The length and greens are good for all handicappers, nothing too crazy for distance or speed.

The staff friendliness was awesome. They even drove around handing free water to folks that needed it. It was a very hot and humid day. The course was maintained in excellent shape despite all the storms and bad weather we have had.

They really do a nice job maintaining this course. Nice variety in the hole layouts with course elevations. Always a pleasure to play this track.
