Presidential at Hickory Valley Golf Club
About
There are two 18-hole courses available at the Hickory Valley Golf Club, the Presidential and the Ambassador. The Presidential is the flagship course and it is also the longer and tougher of the two. The layout incorporates nine of the club's original 27 holes. The Presidential is nearly 300 yards longer than its sister course at 6,721 yards from the championship tees. The golf course has a nice balance of player-friendly features and challenging hazards. The wide fairways are quite forgiving, while the large, undulating greens are framed with bunkers. The signature hole is the par-4 second, which gently doglegs right, requiring a long and accurate tee shot. You're not out of trouble yet though, you'll still have to face the heavily bunkered green that also has a pond to the right.

Great course, good people
It rained for nearly a month and the course was still in pretty good shape. Course was packed and the pace of play was pretty good considering it was cart path only and no one had been able to golf in weeks. Coming back to play the ambassador
Complaint
The condition of the course was terrible. It was literally a swamp. When you walked on the fairways, you sank in the mud and water. The rough were really boggy and uncut. I lost count of all the balls i lost. Honestly, the course shouldn't have been open. I left feeling very frustrated and disappointed.
Not really well kept
The course conditions were awful. It does not seem to have good drainage. There were areas that you couldn’t even hit from because of how wet it was which we haven’t had rain in 4 days. The day before we were at a local course that was completely dry. Also the grass is way too high even on the fairways at times. There were grass trimmings on the fairways making it impossible to find your ball that you hit on the fairway. What I did really enjoy was the greens. They were kept up nicely. And there was moments of it being very pretty. The price was good through golf now but I would not pay full price for it. It’s just so hard to say we would recommend it when the course conditions made it difficult to enjoy.
Made the right choice
Played the Ambassador course on a holiday weekend and was very pleased with the decision to play Hickory Valley.. Arrived early and was able to warm up at the driving range. Couldnt use the driver bit aside from that, the range was great for loosening up with irons. Greens were in great shapre. Rough was heavy and challenging. Fairways were good but several still held a decent amount of water from rain the previous day which was surprising. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for some swampiness and not getting much bounce on fairway shots Overall a great value and plan to return.
Absolutely a great time
I brought my 6 year old daughter with me to play and from the guys at the front desk to the ranger everyone was super accommodating to allow her to play and they made sure to spread out the groups in front and behind us due to a 6 year olds skill set great place to play and for the money well worth it
Overall Nice course
Presidential Side: enjoyed the layout with mix of challenging holes. Conditions: good grass, decent greens, but bunkers were mostly unplayable with standing water or spotty “caked” dryness, which is likely due to major storm. As someone who plays everywhere and at some very nice courses, I will come back to play this course.
Nice Course
We played thw Presidential. Front 9 is beautiful back 9 is nice but not as nice as the front. Still a nuve course to play.
Course Review
Not a huge fan of this course. No different flag colors for pin position, hole 9 doesn’t come around back to the clubhouse to get drinks and food for the back 9. Greens were bumpy
