good deal
Course was in good condition for this early in the year. only drawback was cart path only on front 9. Good course for early season practice rounds.
Needs work
More actual sand in traps and a lot less pebbles in the traps that get sprayed onto nearby greens. All tees were very forward or temporary of sorts to save the normal areas for later in the season which was good to see since they get so torn up there. The setup for some of the holes could use some different angles for approach and some greens are just due for being reworked. Green conditions are fair and fairways are sub par. Few amenities in the club house and snack bar so it is not a nice experience. They crowd the tee times so it is always a lot of waiting on busy days even during the week like this past Wednesday. The golfnow hot deal price is the only thing that made me want to play there as the normal rates are not a good value for what you get!
Good course conditions, Average to poor facilites; should be owned by Casino
Mostly open, not to hard, couple of tough holes, average unimaginative layout. Been saying for years, should be owned by Hollywood casino down the road. But the casino isn't smart enough to buy it, and use it to pull in more traffic to their casino - like Vegas does. Simple plan: buy it, buy out the land around it, redesign it, build a resort to stay & play, then add another sister course. They got the money to do it, but they're trying to run the casino Jersey cheap; which is a plan for future failure.
Good value
Course was in very good condition , very wide open and forgiving course.. Some of the greens were a little choppy but most were firm and fast. The area around the course is beatiful this time of year and it is a good value for the money.
Easy to access, close to route 81
Nice course with gas golf carts. Somewhat challenging with some water and sand bunkers. Green are okay. Good course to play for the value.
Course in great shape
My entire group thought the course was in great shape. Greens really looked good. Pace of play was slow, due to too many smaller groups. The starter should have combined groups, and pace would have been much better.
lack of rain, course drying out
the greens were poor on putting due to the work that was done on them to get them ready for next year, thats to be exspected for this time of year, but thecourse played fair for our outting. ( doc)
duck and hide
The balls are coming for all directions
You are constantly ducking and hiding behind trees for fear of being hit. The players don't even yell Fore
This is a pretty open course but long with tough greens.
They do a good job of maintaining weeds. The greens have a lot of undulations and are tricky fast.
Nice value
The course was in good shape and pace of play was great.
Course tee boxes.
Still wet but it's early. Need to have a ranger around the course to keep people from staking and looking for extra balls while playing!
Apology
I apologize for my previous review. I over reacted to a unique and unfortunate situation. Apart from a single group of miscreants who ruined this one experience, the course is a great place to play.
Rangers Needed
A bachelor party slowed play the entire round. From the second tee, we noticed four carts approaching the fourth green. One cart had no clubs but did have a cooler. There were six golfers on the green at once. We notified the clubhouse concerning this, and they indicated they'd handle it. By the back nine, the same group, once again, all eight, were so loud they could be heard many holes away. We observed as they line up three at a time, and hit their tee shots simultaneously. I believe once the staff was made aware of this situation, it should have been more closely monitored. Their condition and antics not only fly in the face of golf etiquette, it became downright dangerous. Tee shots were heading in all directions with no warnings. Unfortunately for this course, they've lost four local customers.
Pace of play.
I played the round in about 3 hrs. 15 minutes. The golfers ahead of me were moving fast.
I enjoy playing when the pace is not over 4 hours.
Keep on emphasizing pace of play.
comfortable round
course was in nice condition, seemed to play a little longer then card yardage. greens rolled well with small breaks which were a little tough to see, but that is the player. pretty straight away course, with no gimmick holes. nice pleasant course to work on your game.
Good Condition
Usually in very good condition, greens always smooth and puttable. On this day saw no less than eight workers, mowing, trimming general maintenance, etc.
Nice course, Annoying maintenance man
Course is nice for a average golfer. Seemed decently maintained for an inexpensive round. Biggest problem was a grounds keeper followed us on their riding mower for 3 holes and was cutting the putting green while putting.
Decent condition
Course was in decent shape considering the hot weather we had been having. Greens rolled true, tee boxes good.
Great Round of Golf
This is one of my favorite courses in the area because it's relatively wide open. Not much water to be concerned about. Only hole number 12 do trees make the fairway very narrow. I was only in one sand trap and barely got out but that could be a function of how deep it was and my lack of confidence playing out of traps.
The greens are firm and pretty fast. If you don't hit a solid shot into the green the shot may not hold. The greens have pretty good amount of break to them as well.
There are some shots that you need to consider using something other then a driver if you a fairly long hitter. The very first hole the little creek is reachable. Another par 5 is a big dog leg that you can hit through the fairway.
Playing as a single I was able to pass several 2 and 3 somes allowing me to play in less then 3 hours.
Even with a horrible blow up hole I had my best scoring round of the year and one of my best ever. I even almost holed a 125 yard pitching wedge on a par 4. The tap in birdie was still a very good way to finish my round.
