Fun and challenging local course
Great hilly local course that’s reasonably priced with decent greens. Tends to get a little slow pace of play wise when busy and they could use a ranger but for the price and the course it’s worth it.
Too slow
Pace of play was brutal. Everything else was solid+ though
Pleasantly Surprised!
I haven’t played Macoby in probably 15 years and really enjoyed it yesterday. Staff was very friendly and the pace of play was not bad at all for a weekend afternoon, especially when we made the turn to the back none and had it to ourselves.
What surprised me and made for a very fun round was the speed and undulations on the greens. While they showed healing from recent aerification, the greens rolled very fast for a public course - especially considering the amount of slope on each green. I did not have a straight putt all round and quickly learned to keep the ball below the hole. The speed and challenge on the greens really made the round enjoyable and added a nice challenge to what would otherwise be a short and easy course to me. Would recommend!
7 carts deep on 3rd hole
They ran out of carts. It took on average 30 min in between holes to T-off. Worst management I have ever seen on a course. It was so ridiculous I took a picture at one point of how many ppl were waiting on the 3rd T In-front of us
Few trees need cut down that block greens on back 9. Also grounds crew need to make sure holes are in straight couple cups went in on a slant. Overall love this course.
Course was beat up. Tee boxes where rough at best. Fairways where ok in some spots. Rough super high so you could not find your ball. Greens in good shape. Rolling a little slow. Six minutes times make for a long long long day. No ranger to move anybody along.. No cart girl on a hot day. But for the price it ok.
Horrible pace of play and customer service
Played on Sunday 7/3. I understand that it’s a holiday weekend, but the pace of play was brutal. We weee waiting almost 5 minutes for every shot. Since I played for 18, I called the pro shop on the 8th hole to see if we could get a refund or a credit for the back 9. The person I spoke to gave me so much attitude, like I had no idea what I was taking about. He said to stop in after 9 to talk to his boss. When I finished the front 9 and stopped in, the woman I talked to was so unbelievably rude. Refused a refund or even a credit to come back and play 9 another time. Will never play here again.
The course itself wasn’t bad, fair condition overall. The holes are a little close together so you’ll hear “FORE” on almost every hole.
