Very wet day
Played on a day where all the snow melted. Soggy everything. Still enjoyed hitting the golf ball. Looking forward to spring.
Goose droppings and leaves.
If your going to charge people to play, blow the leaves off the corse. Also you can not. Charge people and several of the greens are so littered with goose dropping you can't putt. It was not fresh but dry and a day or 2 old.
Overall I like to play here and have done so 20 times this year. But I was not happy Sunday. I don't complain I just do t come back.
Breezing & Beautiful
Cold breezy conditions but course was in very good condition and pace was excellent. Two of us played in 3 hrs. Greens undulated and challenging. Opted to play the West course (offers 27 holes) which is highlighted by an island green and more of a links course, so offers nice variety.
Good conditions, great pace, at a very good price
Course conditions were very good; the greens rolled well. Pace of play was excellent. Combine with a very reasonable price, and you have an excellent choice for a round of golf.
Confusing....North/South/West
When we booked, had no idea they had three 9 hole courses. We had no idea which 2 we wanted to play. We selected North and South. We loved it, course was in good shape, greens were fair. The only real complaint we have is the condition of the cart paths. They are awful.
Always a great place to play
I have played this course for over 25 yrs. it is still one of the best in S. Pa. greens were beautiful
Great course
Had a lot of fun great course in great condition pace of play was a little slow but that's life but it was an awesome round
Golfing w/pneumonia
Ha, after my round of hacking(105) and coughing, went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I'm going with that excuse. Clubhouse lunch was filling and tasty(tuna sandwich). Course in good shape and not crowded.
Interesting layout
Each hole is a FUN to play.....Like the WEST course!
It was my understanding that green conditions have been improving over three years. I will come back again.
Warm up
My father and I got to the course an hour and a half before our tee time. We wanted to warm up and hit some balls at the driving range. The starter really wanted to send us off right away but we explained that we like to warm up. He said they were cutting the grass at the driving range and it would be 30 minutes so we said no problem we can wait we got some food and waited. For the next hour and 15 minutes they cut the grass at the driving range we were not able to warm up. I've never heard of cutting the grass at the driving range in the middle of the day. The course was challenging it was tough to locate balls in the rough but I did enjoy the way out and everyone was very friendly. The South course was recently aerated also.
It was OK
Greens left a lot to be desired. I'd say 35-40% of them had dirt patches and bumps. Some tee boxes were pretty bad. Overall for $23 can't ask for too much. My only real complaint is the condition of some of the greens. Really no reason why they were so bad
South Hills P.A.
South Hills always a great course, played with two other friends. South Hills is a 27 hole layout. When we went in to play the third nine, the clerk told us $15.00 for nine holes, we payed $ 15.00 for eighteen holes on last minute golfer. The clerk explained since we payed on Last Minute Golfer, the third nine was
$15.00 bucks. Will never go back there again, it's not the $15.00 I don't like being taken.
Always an excellent course
Bonus round in middle of winter - first time to play west nine- great Layout! I have always liked this course and would recommend South Hills to anyone. Thanks to Golf Now for the opportunity
