North/West at South Hills Golf Club

Played all three courses. Each course was in excellent condition and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly!

Played north to west. Greens all had some form of bare spots or burn spots. Overall it is a nice layout having to use all of your clubs. Plenty of elevation changes , so you won't get used to one type of course conditions.

The course was in good shape. Greens are spotty, but generally roll true. Played in 3 hours 15 minutes. too hot for most. Always enjoy the layout.

Excellent experience. South course was great with beautiful fairways & fast greens. First time on the west course. 3rd hole ate me up but was a great learning experience. Fairways & greens were also in great shape.

Very nice layout with some challenging holes. Par fives can be reached in 2 (from the whites). Played this in May and condition was in excellent condition. However, yesterday, course was in pretty good condition, however, with the lack of rain we've had recently, they should keep it watered and groomed more often. I would recommend this course,

94 degrees and no water on course... sign said due to liability, no water, to purchase from coke machines. Coke machines SOLD OUT!! Not good business let alone very dangerous on such a sweltering day!!!

The lack of any rain this summer an the current heat wave has the course in rough shape. Also for some reason they are not putting watering stations out on the course for liability reasons. So they came up with a great idea. They have a employee drive around an sale you bottled water. Greens were super fast on the south course not as bad on the north. Didn't get to play the west.

Although I was disappointed with the pro shop staff - they seemed too busy in the office - the starter was very friendly and wanted to make sure I had a good visit. I played the South and North 9s. I did not see the West 9. The layout was excellent. Each hole was unique, and required accurate tee shots. The greens had a lot of undulations but ran pretty true and I appreciated that they were fairly fast. There were a few places in the tee box and fairways where the grass was a little thin, but overall the course was in good shape. Beer options on tap in the snack bar were pretty limited, but I will definitely be back. A great value for the money.

Wish I had fouND this course earlier in our stay in Gettysburg, PA as I would have played more often as they have 2u holes to play and you can mix them in your 18 hole round. Super friendly staff and very helpful.

I have played here for over 25 yrs. The course under current weather conditions is in excellent shape. Staff is always courteous .

I know from experience that this golf course was kept in really nice condition back in 2000.Now I see that the owner doesn't want to put any extra money into this golf course. I really do think that became of this the grounds crew might be at that point why should we care when the owner doesn't care.

Course conditions, for Pennsylvania late-August and no significant rain in awhile, were good. Parking lot was mostly full , but pace of play was great and we did not need to wait on any hole. Played South-North

Good course, friendly staff and nice layout. Pro shop has plenty to offer and the course is always well maintained. Definitely one to put on your play list.

This is an mature traditional golf course run by a very friendly and helpful staff. It is enjoyable to navigate but, it would be very helpful to have a yardage book to give pertinent information for first time players.
The greens and fairways have been a little beaten up by the heat however the greens rolled very true
Well worth the 75 mile trip each way from Bowie Mayland.

Played nine holes with my wife and son and had a nice relaxing time. We didn't feel pressured that someone was pushing up behind us at any point.

The greens were dry and didn't hold like I am use to. Challenging undulations and tough pin placement , made it more challenging! They had a marshal out watching the play which is always nice !!

Great course that was a challenge for me as a beginner.
Met a couple of nice guys that offered tips to help improve my game.

South Hills is a great course. Unlike most courses in the area, their greens are challenging. I would say very rarely did I have a straight putt. I look forward to playing South Hills again.
