Bucks is worth the bucks
The Bucks Club [aka Bucks County Country Club?] has a layout that’s very good and quite tough. Don’t let the mere 6,200 back tee yardage fool you into thinking this is easy. It includes some long par 3s and five par 4s over 400.
Conditioning looks good, on drier days it’s likely very good. (I played the course when it was quite wet from a couple days of heavy rains; I don’t think they had been able to mow in a day or two because some tees were a little hairy and some of the rough was pretty high.)
Very nice facility (pro shop, restaurant, bath rooms, pool).
Has a private country club look and feel.
I’ll definitely play it again, when it’s drier.
I’d give this course 5 out of 5 stars. Definitely a great deal at the $26 I paid (about half normal rate).
Sleeper!
I live 20 minutes from here and have only played it 4-5 times in the past. But after playing it twice this week, I have to say this course is a real sleeper! (And I mean that in a GOOD way!) There is an excellent variety of holes, the conditions are very good (greens are excellent - quick and VERY undulating!) Maybe the best set of par 3's for a public golf course in a 45 minute radius. The staff is very friendly and efficient (shout out to Cathy in the Pro Shop and Linda at the bar) and the pace of play - at least during the week - was fine (3:55). I have walked and taken a cart; would probably advise the latter as the back 9 has a bit of distance between some greens & tees. Overall, an excellent experience that will keep me coming back on a more regular basis.
Solid old-style course
Nice conditions for a short classic course, plenty of dog legs and smallish fast greens to test you. Pace of play is an issue during prime times, course takes a lot of play. Some of the holes feel wedged in where they ran out of space or had some weird natural landscape they had to overcome or work into the hole. Back 9 is weird that way and unlike the front 9. Would play again but not in prime time.
Fast greens
This course is 10 min from my house so I will play here 3-4 times a year. Greens are pretty fast and undulating. Depending on the pin placements approach shots can be quite frustrating. I have walked this course, but don't recommend it as the back nine is quite hilly and you have to cover some ground between holes.Overall an above average course with friendly staff and nice amenities.
two different nines
There's two different nines at The Bucks Club. The front nine is a parkland style with trees lining the fairways. the back nine is more linksy but still trees come in to play. Good conditioned course with the back nine being more challenging. The greens are very undulating and when they're running fast (Spring and Fall) can be extremely challenging.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
It used to be a nicer old style course until they chopped it up and made it virtually unwalkable for all but the fit and young.
