Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Improvement

I haven't played this course in a few years because it was poorly kept. The conditions were awful, but things have changed. I highly recommend playing this course. It must be under new management because it's in great shape. Great tee boxes and green. Major improvement.

Better than last year, but still a ways to go

Having played the course twice last year, I can see some improvements have been made, like sod on tee boxes, overseeding of some fairways and aeration of the greens. However, there are still some fairways and greens that need work.

Course is moderately challenging - hilly, some water hazards and a few sand traps. Greens can be tricky due to their slope.

Didn't spend anytime in the clubhouse, so can't speak to the food and beverage service, but it's a reasonably sized grille.

A morning tee-time, riding, for seniors was $59; not horrible, but better values exist at other public courses in the area.

Bbost

The course is being improved. Many tee boxes have been freshly sodded and ate cut a little too high. I think the greens except a couple are pretty good.

Somewhat challenging course

Club management has been making major improvements for the past several years. This year it’s newly seeded and sodded tee boxes. Last year it was rehabbed sand traps and cart paths. They have leveled off some of the greens so they are not severely sloped. They have remove dozens of over grow trees and mowing sections that they let grew wide in the past. If you haven’t played here in the past 4 or 5 years, then it time to give it a try again.

Challenging course

The course is in general good condition, the greens are ok, some work is needed. Overall its a good challenging course. “My worst day on the golf course still beats my best day at the office.”

Good shape for early in the year!

Course conditions were in good shape for mid April. The new tees are coming in nicely. The staff were fantastic.
