Middletown Country Club

About
Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Great condition
Course was in great condition other than the course just generally being tight greens fairways and even the rough was in great shape.

Friday Morning Golf
Friendly employees from the moment we got there. The course was in excellent shape less the tee boxes which the starter acknowledged that the new superintendent hadn't gotten to fix up yet. All in all and enjoyable round and a nice lunch afterwards.

Dry times
The course is not in great shape, the fairways are dry and is like hitting off concrete. Some tee boxes don’t have any grass and others have some grass. The greens are in good shape but slow, especially when hitting uphill and ball stops halfway. The hackers pub was not open afterwards so we had to go elsewhere for refreshments. I know it hasn’t rained in a while but don’t they have sprinklers. On the back nine we had to wait at least 5-10 minutes on tee box. Nice day but the course wasn’t.

Middletown
Bunkers were like hitting out of a baseball infield. No bars were open and my tee time was 12:00

Some issues
Apparently the greens were recently aerated. The holes were mostly gone but the sand remained and caused some inconstancy with the speed of the greens. I would expect this issue to clear itself up soon enough. There were a couple of tee boxes that were a bit of a mess. I am not sure what happened here but this needs to be cleaned up.

Great course going bad!
I live almost next to this course. 20 years ago it was a thriving privately owned course with a great pool , restaurant, bars, etc. The township took over several years ago, now the restaurant and one bar and the pool are closed. The snack shack in the middle of the course and the golf club bar w/food hasn't been opened yet, There are no ball washers on most of the holes, and the ones that do have them either don't have towels attached or they are shreded. The first hole has no towel, how pitiful. I don't know how much longer we will play this course.

Tee boxes were horrible. Fairways and Rough are horrible as well. Greens were hard as a rock. Not worth the money. Worth $30 in it's current condition.

The course is terrible shape .Greens ok but hard. No water on course the halfway house closed ridiculous they had outing and league interfere with play.course is worth $25 to play if that only going to get worse as summer comes.this course is there just to steal your money.overall better to hit balls at a driving range.
