Middletown Country Club has been one of Bucks County's major golfing destinations for more than a century. Originally designed as a nine-hole golf course in 1913 by Scottish architect Alexander Findlay, the second nine was added three years later. In the many years since opening, the golf course has undergone renovations by both George Fazio and Stephen Kay. This tough course is proof that a layout doesn't have to be 7,500-plus yards to be a challenge. Although the Middletown C.C. golf course plays to a seemingly modest yardage of 6,217 from the back tees, the rolling terrain provided by its location in the scenic Neshaminy Valley makes the course seem much longer. The small greens have plenty of undulations and you'll also be faced with a variety of uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. There are also towering trees looming above the fairways and water comes into play throughout the golf course as well.

Not worth the price

I can't believe the cost of this track. Each tee box was awful. Footing was awful due to digits and chunks of dirt. Sad! Don't do it.

Better than expected!

First time playing here and after reading a lot of negative reviews I wasn’t expecting a lot or to impressed with the course. I was very pleasantly surprised and the conditions overall were great! Fairways were very green and well groomed and the greens were in great shape too! It is a very hilly course and most holes slopes left to right except for 18 and 1 or 2 other holes. I felt the holes were very close together and the tee boxes were also beat up and pretty bear. Otherwise it was a great round and overall experience and would play again and recommend to others! For early summer season, it is in great shape!!

Why?

So I showed up for my 12 pm tee time for a little pregame warm up. My partner and were ready to go early and there hadn't been anyone off the tee in 20 minutes. So I approached the starter about going off early with our twosome. He tells me that his boss doesn't want any of the golfnow times going off early because they are discounted times. After talking to him about how stupid and unfair that managerial decison was. He let's the 11:50 threesome go off and we wait until they are on the green and tee off. We play our round waiting at every hole on a basically empty course.

So as the title says "Why". Why does someone have to wait for a golfnow tee time because it is discounted? If you can't stand it that much why have the 2 tee time listed on golfnow at all?

First time - but was prepared based on reviews

First time playing here...

2 factors made it an ok experience: Windy and course condition.

I knew about the course condition going into this and based on past reviews...just know that whenever you play this course, play winter rules (bump your ball for a better lie on the fairway). Greens were decent, and of course...the tee box was horrendous. Fun course, will be even more fun when the summer weather stablizes, but for the amount you pay during the spring....NOPE!

First time playing this course, and I will definitely be back. Me and my brother went for an after work golf session to relax and it was definitely relaxing, the pace of play could have been a little better but we were playing behind a league. We got paired up with two other guys and they were so cool and chill, had such a great time with them. This course is gorgeous from the fairways and the sunset. The greens are very challenging too which I loved. Will be back again!!!!

The Rise of Middletown

I play at Middletown once a year as its in the 'middle' of myself and a college buddy. We've been at it for 5-6 years now, and have to say its come a long way in that time. Matter of fact, the first time I played, I didn't think I'd be back. Today, the course is miles ahead of what it once was, and they continue to work on key items to enhance the overall experience. The bunkers are full of quality sand, the fairways are well maintained and not too patchy. The greens have come a long way and are challenging as they are tight, firm and fast. The distance of this course can come off as short, but overall it challenges you to hit the shots your supposed to be able to hit consistently, and remind you that it aint always about distance. Will be back for sure.

Quick round

Staff was very friendly. I was able to show up early and they accommodated the change. Course was a bit confusing and needed more signage supporting the hole layout. I had to skip multiple holes as the league completely stalled my play on the back 9. Overall fun course with some tough shots, bunkers, and difficult putting.
