Great value
Course was in great condition from tees to greens, I think one of the best in the area.
First new course of the year
Having played a while now, I have to take a road trip to play a new track. On the 4th of July, I was able to make the nearly 2 hour trip to play Royal Oaks. Had no plans and the Hot deal was too good to pass up.
Having read reviews for years, and recently, I felt like I knew what to expect. And I wasn’t surprised about anything. The course is a 4+ star facility. Tee to green, 85-90% all around. Greens were above average with not too many pitch marks. Good work EVERYONE!! Some bunkers were nothing more then dirt and pebbles, while others had sand in them, and yet even more had been converted into grass areas. Seemed about 2 dozen or so are now grass in some strategic areas. I would have loved to seen/played here before the change over.
Relatively flat with a slope averaging in the one teens, it’s fairly wide open for play. Some water comes into play. 3 of each of pars on the front 9 (3s,4s,5s) Back 9 a little more target golf needed. Probably why it took half an hour longer then the front. Still finished in 4.5 . For the holiday, better then expected.
One last story. The 3 some of dudes I played with, all went in at the turn for refreshments of one kind or another. The bill came to $17.76!!! Absolutely the truth. Very enjoyable holiday round.
Best conditions I've ever seen for this course!
I don't regularly write a review on a golf course I play, but need to congratulate the team at Royal Oaks for the outstanding course conditions for today's round. Over the years, course conditions have been hit-or-miss. I just played Iron Valley yesterday and would put Royal Oaks greens, fairways and tee box quality at or in some cases above their local competition.
Great to see this great layout now in great condition!
The traps need to be taken care of on a regular basis.

course from tees to green in very good shape. this course was rough a few years ago and not in good shape. looks like it is being taken care of now more like it was years ago when it was a new course
The course was in great shape, especially the greens. I had 7 one put greens.
Beautiful and interesting course .... wish greens were a bit faster
Very cool layout, tough par 3's and 4's, easy par 5's. I do wish they would cut the greens a little tighter, but they rolled well, if somewhat slower than what I'm used to playing. If I am in the area I would certainly play there again.
Great condition
I haven't played here in a couple of years because of the poor course conditions and price wise there was better places to play for less. This year (2022) this course was in great shape and well worth the cost. The course has a challenging layout. The only downside was the sand in the bunkers. I'm not a fan of hard waste bunkers around the greens.
Need a Ranger
When it takes 5 hours to play a round ... there is an issue.
A foursome clogged the whole course up at noon ... they watched each other's shots and drove from ball to ball ... and never left anyone play through ... a course worker observed this and even came up to share his empathy for what was going on.
Great layout
Flat but fairly challenging. Need to fix parts of the cart paths. Best carts around. Some steps need replaced on the course. A must play course.
Nice course
Good price for this course and the staff was friendly. All new carts with USB ports and the course was in pretty good shape. Not a real challenging course, but that made it more fun for our group which included my novice son.
