Great day out!
I enjoyed this course very much. Pace of play was good. Didn’t see anyone ahead or behind most of the day.. Greens and traps were well maintained.
Water doesn’t come into play very often and some of the traps have been converted to turf. So there isn’t a lot of trouble to get into.
I recommend this course.
Awesome Greens
Greens were awesome. Fast and rolled true. Although we had 20 mile hour winds we played very well. Fairways we're well cut.bunkers raked . Golfers need to learn to repair their ball marks in the greens.
Great layout
Very flat & in good shape for early spring. Could be a tougher track. Not much of a challenge for better players.
Greens Running True
For early April Royal Oaks was in excellent shape. The greens rolled nicely with good speed. As the season progresses, the fairways should continue to grow out as there were a few areas that needed improvement. However, the new golf carts were a nice little bonus making the round a joy!
nice course
nice layout, some challenging holes. seems a bit longer than some other courses i play. my only complaints are the cart paths are really rough at some places, and very little signage to tell you which way the next holes are, some holes it isn't obvious. i will come back to play it in summer.
Really nice condition ... post frost delay
Had a 30 minute frost delay which can be expected with golf in the northeast in November. Found the course to be in great condition. Lost one ball due to leaves, but again to be expected this time of year. Will certainly book there again and through Golf Now.
Good cause but could be great
This course is a nice layout but if restored to its original design could be better. Multiple sand traps have been filled in and made it a little more forgiving than it could be. Played with a local who pointed out the original traps and it would definitely make it better. Also there were no tip tees so playing the blues, I used fairway wood all but 2 holes.
If it were closer to me I would play it again but at this distance I would probably go to iron valley or Hershey cc instead.
