Very enjoyable round
First time playing at this course. I enjoyed the layout and the fairways and greens were all well maintained. The course is fairly friendly to the intermediate golfer not too long.
Bad experience with the staff both rounds.
My first time playing there, the person collecting the money could not have been ruder. So bad that I didn't go back for years. I gave it another try yesterday, the pro shop cashier was much nicer. I asked where can I get a sandwich, he said the restaurant of the halfway house. I specifically asked if it was open and was told yes. Got there and it was closed, played a 5.5 hour round starving.
The starter was nice, but tells us that its going to be a long round based on the groups that just teed off. How about going out and moving them along like every other golf course instead of making up play and 5 and 1/2 hour round for a twosome?
$80???
Spending $80 you at least expect there to be sand in the bunkers.
I know
Just don’t hit your ball in there but with the lack of rain
And no concern for watering a good shot down the fairway sometimes led to your ball rolling out an additional 50-60 yards or taking crazy bounces off the hard pan fairway and bounced into greenside bunkers that are simply hardpan dirt and rocks.
It’s ridiculous for $80.00
Pace of play was horrible
Prepare for at least 5 hour round.
Surprise we aerated
The greens were aerated and they never told us and the rates were not reduced also, we played at 5 PM and they didn’t tell us the cart had to be in by 7:00 So we couldn’t even finish nine holes.
Decent Course for Time and Location
Overall a good course to play if you wanted a last minute round in. Offers decent price for 18 holes during the weekdays. Range is definitely subpar. Only issue I have with them is no clear direction to head back to the clubhouse after the 9th hole. When you check on Google maps it tells you to take the roads back which is the fastest way but according to the local park ranger who stopped me, you will get a ticket if they see golf carts on the road. Mainland doesn't do a good job of telling you how to get back to the clubhouse and avoid the road. They need to add some kind of signage to direct people to head back to the clubhouse after the front 9.
Needs some work.
The tee boxes were in bad shape they need a lot of work. Someone also needs to clean up the broken tees on the boxes.
Who ever put the holes on greens needs there head examined. They were put on the edge of down slopes. The balls would roll off the greens. Making it very difficult to putt, the speed of the greens were enough.
Pace of play was decent, so we were happy.
All in all it was a good day.
A lot of damage everywhere. Ball marks in greens unattended.
