The bunkers looked like they hadn’t been touched in a while and there were now rakes. There was grass growing in them and stones making them basically unplayable.
Course/Staff were terrible
Bunkers were completely awful and unplayable, the course in general was in poor condition and the starter was rude and wouldn't let my group play #1 because he had gotten ahead of schedule and didn't want to make room even though we were at the tee box on time. Absolutely will never play here again and a waste of money
Bunkers should be eliminated
This was my second time playing this course and I was very disappointed. The bunkers are not maintained, there is mainly dirt not sand, lots of rocks, grass growing in them and no rakes. The pace of play was bad. It took us nearly 5 hours and they should space the tee times every 15 minutes. Lastly there were multiple pin positions put on the side of a hill where the ball could not stop within 5-7 feet of the hole.
BB
I thought the online price was good.
We felt that the pace of play was too slow. Many back ups on most holes.
The bunkers were terrible. All dirt, no sand and no raked anywhere.
I would not be inclined to play here again given the terrible shape of the bunkers.
A great course at a great price.
Mainland remains an excellent value. The layout is challenging for most mid to high handicaps, but workable. The course is well maintained and the staff is friendly. It's a great location, right off of the NE Extension of the PA Tpke. Greens vary, but are well kept. The clubhouse is nice, with good food and service. Keep up the good work!
Front Nine Fast, Back Nine Slow
As usual the course was in great shape. The front nine played quickly. The back nine needed a Ranger to move some folk along but it was looking for a cop when you need one.
Some people need a lesson in etiquette. Like letting a quicker playing 2some play through. Especially if you are playing slow as molasses. It was still a beautiful day and can't wait to go back there again.
Horrible management
I having been golfing at Mainland for several years now, its a good course but the management leaves a lot to be desired..., to top it off the support team is not good, in particular the numb skull that gives out the carts a jerk named Bob ( he would not give out his name) was a loud mouth jerk who rudely imposed himself out in the parking lot with his unsolicited commentary.
He was a bully and rude probably because he was injecting himself into two female golfers (don't believe he would have acted as such a bully with men) When I went to the clubhouse to let the management know of this man's rudeness he came screaming in bullying even more.., long story short I let the manager of the golf course know and he ignored me.., This course clearly is like a cattle shoot they just want to push bodies thru and could care less about the long standing customers .., especially the women golfers. Enter at your own risk don't expect any professionalism from this course I am done with them.

Very unprofessional staff
We were slatted to play Sunday morning at mainland. My group had a heard good things about it and we're excited to play. The day before our tee time one of our guys tested positive for covid and couldn't play. When we showed up to play and told him we only had 3 and not 4 due to our 4th having covid, the guy behind the counter said "not.my problem in still charging you for 4. After some back and forth I agreed on a raincheck, although it didn't resolve the situation because we live about 2 hours from the course, and the raincheck we were told was only good for a month. After our round I left a negative review on Google due to the fact I felt like we were treated unfairly given our situation. The next day the "Director Lamar" called and said "since I wasn't appreciative of his gratitude of the raincheck, he was going to cancel it." Talk about white collar robbery. The course itself is descent but I would not recommend any play it untill they hire a more professional staff.
