Always worth the drive.
My cousin Bob and I travel to CC of the Pocono's around twice a year (spring and fall) from the Binghamton NY area. The course is very unique and always in nice shape. You cannot walk the course, as there are 13 miles of cart path, and often a several minute drive between your last green and the next tee. Many of the drives take you through the adjacent housing development, so you have to pay VERY close attention to signage, pavement markings, and occasional traffic. The views are spectacular (especially on the back 9). The staff always seems friendly and accommodating. We never eat here afterward, so we can't comment on the food/drink. That said, the clubhouse is nice.
Wonderful Course
This course is very challenging & the lay out is very cool. Long ride between holes which makes it a lot of fun. Course is in very nice shape. Had a great time as always playing here. Highly recommend it. Kevin the manager is very friendly & helpful.
Very unique awesome course
This course is my favorite course to play on. The course is pretty difficult but its always a blast to play. The scenery is better than any other course I've played on, if you want to play a course that exemplifies playing in the Pocono Mountains this is your course. You'll tee off cliff sides and hills (which adds to the difficulty but also the fun). The staff is the best and you get more than your money's worth when playing here.
Been Awhile!! Always a Challenge
Great Course-Well Maintaiined. Been a number of years since last played. Forgotten what mountain golf was like. Top Notch!! When returning to PA will definetly play again!!!
Very disappointed!
I was not informed that the back nine was closed when I booked on GolfNow. We had to play the front nine twice. The course was not in the best condition and the layout was very disjointed. If I knew the back nine was closed I never would have booked it.
Great day
The course is in good shape . I little tough to play ,but fun . Autumn colors are starting to show.
A pioneers view of the Poconos
A beautiful way to experience the back woods of the Poconos. 13 miles of cart path, much of which is in the deep woods of Pennsylvania between greens and tee boxes. A very nicely designed course in the hills and housing that is a joy to play.
awesome conditions great views
played many Pocono courses and this is 1 of the best...great conditions pace was good and views were awesome. I'm from the Lehigh Valley but try to play this course a few times a year
Great Challenge & Fun
Beautiful weather, great vistas, exceptional layout (challenging but do-able), conscientiously groomed & kept. Couldn't help but have fun!!!
You Must Play This Course
I was blown away by this course. It was in great shape, the girl in the pro-shop was very friendly, and the pace of play was excellent. We played on a Friday morning/afternoon. This course is laid out in an interesting manner. Most of the holes are quite a long ways apart, so walking this course would be impossible. The tee boxes where in great shape, the fairways were are good as I have played this year. Greens were a little slow, but the weather was so humid, there was dew still on at noon. This is a must play course. I paid $13 for 18 holes on one of the best courses I have played in a long time. Honestly, I like it just as well as the Jack Frost Course, at a fraction of the expense.
Wonderful vacation stop!
We were visiting from Wisconsin and wanted to take in some views of the beautiful Poconos..... what wonderful way to do just that with a round of golf at the Country Club of the Poconos. Absolutely amazing scenic views, and the beautiful hole designs kept us looking forward to seeing the next tee box.
Thank you very much for such a special day!
A Favorite
This course is in driving distance from NJ/NY and a favorite of the foursome. In a few weeks, as the leaves begin to turn color this will be a challenging course with magnificent vistas making for a great day outside for golf. Must take carts as the layout is over hills and through a housing development. Course was in great shape.
Lots of elevation changes. Cart required. Great views.
I am copying some text from a recent review. The review was really good, so I am just going change it a little for my round.
What a great experience. My son and I were in the Poconos and wanted to try a local course, but not one at a resort. I researched the course before booking and my expectations were exceeded... it is 13 miles of cart path, so really spread out. Pack drinks, even though there are water spots on the path. We played on a Friday at 1:30PM and the course was not crowded at all. Great pace of play. The views were spectacular... elevated tee boxes looking out across mountains and valleys and trees. The pro shop staff were fantastic, the tee boxes were mostly great, the fairways were soft but beautifully kept, and although the greens weren't fast, they were in great shape. The layout was different to any course I have played... more challenging than other Par 70s, but great fun. Having discovered CC of The Poconos and played it once, we are looking forward to a return trip to use the experience we gained. The laminated tip card from the pro was very helpful... glad we used it for moving between holes and through the community. I highly recommend a visit - if you are a high handicapper (like me) you might not play your best golf ever, but you will enjoy it and remember it for a long time! Only negative was the ride is so long, the cart started to backfire as we moved between the last three holes. Not big problem, but it will surprise you.
wonderful day
The weather could not have been more perfect. The layout and scenery was spectacular and the pace of play was in time.
Beautiful layout
This course is spread out over so much territory and they really brought out the natural landscape. Hardly any hole where you can even see another hole on the course.
