Stunning terrain and views
What a great experience. My wife and I wanted to try a different course and the green fees offered were great value, so we booked. I researched the course before booking and my expectations were exceeded... it is 14 miles of cart path, so really spread out. We liked that... at the end of every hole, it felt like an adventure to get to the next tee and every time it was different. The views were spectacular... elevated tee boxes looking out across mountains and valleys and then climbing to the highest point, where the trees and vegetation really made it seem like we were in the alps! (We know the alps!) The pro shop staff were fantastic, the tee boxes were mostly great, the fairways were soft but beautifully kept, and although the greens weren't fast, they were in great shape. The layout was different to any course I have played... fairly challenging but great fun. Having discovered CC of The Poconos and played it once, we are looking forward to a return trip to use the experience we gained. The laminated tip card from the pro was very helpful... if only I had taken his advice! Congratulations to the ground staff for an excellent job. I highly recommend a visit - if you are a high handicapper (like me) you might not play your best golf ever, but you will enjoy it and remember it for a long time!
He n the Poconos
Interesting layout. Fairways and greens in great shape. Tee boxes need some work. Never crowded. Get around the 18 in 4 hours
A Beautiful Course
The course layout was creative sprawling though a community with severe elevation changes. Used most of the clubs in my bag, to me, the mark of a good course, lots of risk reward with very nice greens. For the value on golf now, a great choice for the golfer looking for a fun round of golf.
Querky but fun
Was reluctant to play CCOP because of length but on advise of a friend and a great deal I pulled the trigger. I'm not sorry I did. With 13 miles of travel to play this course it's a little querky. It's lack of length is compensated by forced carries and cross hazards. Very much a target golf course. Control your ball and you can score here. In The sporty category.
Worth a visit
A very scenic course with many " picturesque " views during the round. The claim of 13 miles of cart paths is probably true, but many of these views happen along the way. The course is not long from any set of tees, but presents a challenge from all.
The course was in excellent condition. The fairways were a little soft from recent rains and the greens were fast ! ! Except for a few " quirky " holes / shots, which all courses have, a visit to play here is worth it ! !
Must play
We really enjoyed the layout of this golf course with the beautiful views. It was in a little rough shape but overall still a must play.
CCP
My home course. In better shape than it was last year. One of the most beautiful courses to play in the Poconos. Lots of narrow fairways and natural hazards. Can take awhile to complete the loop.
Great mountain golf
Even though the course design is spread out over 13 miles of driving, it provides an excellent golfing experience! Every hole is a pleasant surprise; follow the tips provided by staff, if you're able to control your shots! If not, just enjoy the beautiful golf course, and bring extra balls!
PS: bring snacks with you, because once you're on the course, there's nowhere to buy food alone the 13 miles ride...
very peaceful, scenic, hidden holes.
I really enjoyed playing for the first time. Will definitely go back. You do need to bring balls.
Scenic Course but With Some Errors
Driving from one hole to the next was very scenic. Overall, we were told there was 13 miles of driving between all the holes. Golf cart would make occasional loud popping sound every once in awhile because of the many downhill and uphill slopes, so be aware. Wetlands would get annoying and were not well trimmed. Many greens had dents, probably from the mowing, which would affect the ball speed. All in all, the course is in a beautiful location and it was fun driving around to the next hole. The pro shop gives you a sheet with tips for each hole to help you hit the ball in the right direction.
Excellent, Challenging Course
I would highly recommend this course.
It is fun, challenging and best of all varied. There are straight fairways, dog legs and even several where you are hitting on step inclines & declines.
The only negative I can come up with is the driving...the course is in the middle of a community and for most of the round you are driving your cart (what seems like miles) between holes.
This did not affect the fun we had.
I will go back soon!
Very different
Conditions great, price great, staff great, golf cart kept locking and husband came home with almost 20 ticks.
Beautiful views
Great course. Great views, very peaceful and secluded. If you are not accurate bring a lot of balls. Course is a bit short 5800 from the tips so you can over drive many fairways. Biggest issue with the course is pace of play.
Long and winding road
Scenic course, in good shape, but holes are spread out all over a mountainside community. With over 12 miles of cart path you can't play this course in less than five and one half hours with a foursome. Make sure you allow plenty of time for your round.
Hidden Gem
Just Played this hidden gem. I felt like I owned the place. The greens were fast and rolled true. The course was well groomed. Not long from the forward tees but demand placement or you could hit through the doglegs. A lot of elevation changes kept it fun to play and the views on the back 9 were great. I will play this again. The staff was very friendly!
