Typical Fort Cherry Ineffective Golf Course Management
Had a regular group of golfers that make T times and play at Fort Cherry regularly throughout the year. Not that Fort Cherry is any sort of impressive golf venue, but it is cheap! Understandably so by golf course condition and layout standards. Showed up for play and players had to stand around for quite a long time, waiting for the few carts that were usable but out on the course. Most of the carts were unusable because they had dead batteries. Although, it could have been a blessing in disguise if players would carry their bag and walk so they would not have to suffer through the stupid cart control software that slows and stops carts way too often and at many non-sensical times and locations.
Over booked and under watered
The course was clearly overbooked. Waiting on about every tee box and got hit into multiple times. The course looked like it hadn’t seen water in weeks with dead spots on some of the greens. Normally an okay course but in current conditions not with playing
Overpriced
In October prices are the same as if it was summer. Course is in decent enough condition but not excellent. For the price I can go a much nicer course. Also if you book online you have to prepay.
Great Course
Great Course! 2025 got New Management. They have made significant Improvements, course healing from last. Looking forward to many more rounds
Poor Pace
They book every 8 minutes and by hole 2 you are 10 minutes behind pace. 5:30 to finish 18 holes.
Greedy owners to allow bookings so close together.
Nice course, Positive improvement
Positive improvement - oh, not me - the course. While some area courses are just barely maintained it appears that Fort Cherry is continually keeping up with maintenance and also making improvements. The greens are in very good condition. Fairways are okay. There is new signage at the main road. The grille is now open a lot more than on my previous trips.
Fort Cherry Review
Great course, price, pace of play and staff. Holes 4-7 are gas. Definitely book a tee time.
Slogathon
Six-hour rounds of golf should not happen. Six-somes shouldn't either. Ran into both today at this course, and it just sucked the fun out of the round.
We were delayed by a frightening lightning storm and forced to play cart path only. Considering the amount of rain that fell, that part was reasonable, maybe the only part of the day that was.
Golf courses in Western PA have had it rough this season, and it shows here. Several fairways were largely devoid of grass, and several greens were bare in places that came into play on three or four holes.
Just for good measure, our cart wouldn't climb hills at all. We actually got out and pushed it up the cart path on
Water the course
It’s been a few years since I played here. They have made some updates to the entrance and building but the course was not in good shape. Even with all the rain we have had this early summer a number of the fairways were burned out and the greens were dyed a nice color green but hard as a rock. Plenty of water to pull from the ponds on the course. Don’t understand how the course could be in such rough shape. Not a $65 a round course. Won’t be back anytime soon.
Tight course
Good shape overall, course is tight with lots of opportunity to get hit by other players balls so pay attention. Greens were pretty quick, fairways good shape.
Kart path only
Kart path only for 50$ a little steep. Outside of that everything was great.
Love it here
We always enjoy playing here. Gave us extra ice for a very hot day and let us go off early. Course is demanding annd has difficult holes which makes it challenging.
