One of my best rounds of the year!
This course could have had a higher rating today, if not for:
1. they did not advertise that their greens were punched and sandy.
2. Pace of Play (Rangers?): I understand they were setting up for a tournament and I was a single player, playing behind a foursome, but the foursome in front of me (did not let me play through) and was 2.5 holes behind the foursome ahead of them.
With regards to the course it is a short course (less than 6,000 from the tips), but played a little longer secondary to it being wet this morning. Most of the par four's I was hitting 4-iron and wedge/8/9 iron to the greens
One and done
5 hour round. Aerated greens. Rude staff. Tight course with some really neat holes. Keep your head on a swivel because balls come flying from every direction on every hole. Glad I can check it off the list but do not plan to return.
Our first time playing this course. It was very compact and mostly switchback fairways, so we had lots of near misses getting hit at. The teeboxes were terrible, the greens were okay but had recently been aerated so quite bumpy. The fairways were nice, the rough was pretty long. The weather was amazing so we did have a good time, but this is not a course we would try to get back to playing.
Good local course
The course was in great shape the staff was friendly the pace of play was slow due to a foursome holding everyone up and not letting anybody pass but besides that it’s one of my favorite courses to play in the area
Slow Play
Very slow play.
They were also aerating the back 9 so you cold only play the front 9.
Would have been nice to know that before I booked.
Pace of play
Absolutely worst 18 holes of my life. Pace of play was horrible. Groups of 4 goofing off and ruining the day. Literally was swing wait 10 minutes, Swing wait another 10 mins. On one hole we piled up and had 4 different groups waiting at the same tee box. Didn’t even finish the full round of 18, only played 15 and left. Also, don’t bring a speaker to the golf course and blast your crappy choice of music
Worth playing
Play at Armitage 2-3x a year. Course was in fine shape as usual but pace of play was extremely slow. Waited on most shots and at times had 2 or 3 groups waiting on the same hole. Likewise, even just getting a hot dog at the turn took legitimately 15 minutes (and it wasn’t even cooked). All in all the course is worth playing, but pace of play may be slow.
Play in the AM, place heats up!!!!
Course is in decent shape only a couple tee boxes were beat up. Greens got quick and dried out as the morning heated up. The fair ways outside of the par 3s are lined with trees so aim it straight;).
Really enjoyed the round - weather helped
Consistently good conditions. Fair and challenging - wish the greens were a couple notches faster.
Shot par on all of the par 3s today. Still want to see some specific trees cut down on 10 on the right.
The course is a little tight off the tee but I never felt overly so. The greens are very firm since we need rain and still hold fairly well all things considered.
