Nice
For all the rain we have had the course was in great condition.
Nice course well maintained
To many young player with girl frinds and young groups that don’t play the game much. For a course the books a lot of players in a day. When it takes five hours or so to play 18 it’s not enjoyable. Very nice course.
Nice Course
The pace was slow because of the group in front of us. A short course, but you better hit it straight, as most fairways are lined with trees on both sides. A trip into the trees almost always requires a punch out. The course is well maintained, and is in amazingly good shape for a busy municipal course. Overall, a great course for the price. I've played higher price courses in much worse shape than Armitage.
Meh
Course was in good condition, except for the greens. These were poor. There shouldn't be aeration marks in the middle of June. The ball's were wobbling and bouncing, not rolling true. Not worth the 46$
Put the driver away
Very good course but gives a bonus for good shot placement and penalizes hard for missed shots. People were losing balls in the rough. Greens weren’t bad. Overall pretty well kept. Looking forward to playing again.
Great Course
After all the rain from the night before the course was in fantastic shape. Well maintained and looked fantastic

Course is well maintained for excellent golf experience
Decent Value
Not a bad course for the money. Fairly straight forward. Not long. Play was very slow on a Sunday afternoon, but not sure that is typical. Greens in good shape but very very slow. Overall not bad for the $$.
Hit it straight
Course is short, less than 6000 yards, but mature pines and other trees line most holes. So accuracy off the tee is a must. Course in very good condition.
Good short course
I enjoyed the round. First time to play. Pace was a little slow. Started on the back 9. By 14, we had caught the high schoolers that were playing 9 holes to qualify for this years' team. A little slow from there through 18 but good pace thereafter.
The course is very well manicured, attractive, clean layout and heavily tree'd. It is also very short. A little under 6,000 from the tips. This would frustrate a long hitter. Or maybe not. 4-6 of the holes are, or are very nearly drivable. Not necessarily a problem but could slow play if it was busy.
Probably wouldn't go back because of the shortness of the course but everything else was very nice! No other issues whatsoever!
P.S. great food and cold beer at the restaurant!
Short... Slow.. Won't Return for Golf
Was told by numerous people this was a great course in the area. Came out to the course as a single and joined a group. Started at 3pm, threesome. Course is incredibly short which you can see from the card. Fairways were in good shape, greens were incredibly slow. Pace of play was 5.5 hours.... We ran out of daylight on the course. Best thing about this course is the restaurant, CaddyShack and the friends I met at the bar. Shot a 34, so this review does not come from playing poorly. I would not recommend to any serious golfer, and will not be returning. If you are visiting and want a good place to place, I would head to Royal Manchester, Iron valley or Daulphin Highlands. Cheers
Strategic layout, a thinkers course
You can't bomb your way around here. Sometimes it might be better to leave the driver in the bag. A fairly 'tight' course, but there is room to work the ball. Each hole tells you how it needs to be played. Sometimes, that might be a draw off the tee, other times, a nice cut will put you in the best position to go at the well-guarded greens. A good mix of left-to-right and right-to-left holes, many with subtle elevation changes. This is definitely a course that rewards restraint, and local knowledge. You'll play better here on your second and third rounds than you do the first time out. Excellent course conditions, especially considering how much play this course gets. The greens are especially well-maintained, with a medium-fast speed and very true roll. A great value, too, especially on GolfNow Hot Deal rates.

Course is nice! Holes average approximately 325 yds.
Nice place to play
Great conditions. Bunkers all redone and nice. Bar and grill very nice too.
SLOW
Myself and my partner were paired up on a Wednesday afternoon with another pair to "make the round seem faster". There was a foursome ahead of us consisting of a course employee who the ranger passed multiple times and didn't ask to speed up play of let our group play through. The round lasted almost 5 hours on one of the shortest courses in the area. There wasn't another group ahead of this foursome for about 4 or 5 holes by the end of the round. Poor on-course management yesterday. The course itself was in good shape and typically Armitage is a fun course to play. The restaurant/bar (Caddie Shack) is always a good time too.
