Made a tee time. Showed up to play . Course was closed. Drove 45 minutes each way. Thanks Golfnow and Sunset. You suck.
Good value
Sunset is a good course that's always in good shape. The pace of play was good for a holiday weekend nd the greens and fairways were in good shape. Some of the tee boxes were not in good shape and could use reseeding.
Great course
This course has changed so much since I last played here 3 years ago. A lot of the trees on front 9 have been removed, but fairway traps still make it a challenge. Course was in great condition.
Sunset was fun
This was the first time I played at Sunset and I really did enjoy it. The course layout is not overly difficult but offers enough challenge and has some interesting holes that make you adjust how you want to do things, primarily going straight downhill on hole 10! Can't wait to play here again
Not Bad
4:08 tee time after work -- pro shop closed because of COVID19.. Each member of the group was charged a different amount because the course closes at 6:30 pm. Asked if we could walk to finish but were told the course must close at 6:30 pm no exceptions. (Gets dark at 7:45)
Course itself was fine. Greens were firm, reasonable speed. I'll go back because the pro shop employee did apologize for the 6:30 situation. (It wasn't her fault)
Good course, bad tee boxes
I enjoy playing Sunset from time to time. It's challenging enough, almost too challenging for beginners which I have been stuck behind before. Course was in pretty good condition, except a few greens had aeration holes which is necessary but sucks when you encounter them. Really wish they had a starter to actually space out groups. Turns into a mess when everyone just tees off 4 minutes after the group in front of them. Overall it's a good course and I will play it again.
This course has unique features
The course was in decent shape. Play was slow, 4.5 hours for our round. Beautiful view overlooking TMI on hole 10. Lots of planes landing.
Holding up
With tough summer we have had the course is holding up pretty well. Greens firm and fast,
Good course for the money.
Tee boxes were horrible. But other then that, the course seemed fine. 17.00 for 18 holes and ride was a great deal which is the reason we played there.
Poor management.
Made a tee time and showed up they said they were running 20 mins behind ended up waiting 30mins and the two 4 somes in front of us still didn’t have carts. Plus there was 3 groups waiting at the tee box. It was going to be an hour plus wait. The staff never offered refunds or even felt sorry. Terrible course management. We have a rain check for this course which we will never use because of how poor it was managed.
Slow
If you can play here early then you should be ok.
This is a muni that is poorly run.
Droves of non golfers flock here in the pm and pace of play is horrible.
When I was last here there was a four foursome wait in every hole.
The course has way too much high grass for a everyday course and it makes play slow for beginners.
I get that they are trying to give the course a look, but it’s detrimental to good pace of play
