Sunset Golf Course

This place is AWFUL if it’s a busy day. I’ve played it multiple times and they’ve never had a starter. Guys just approach the tee box and hit whenever, totally out of order. Just played with a friend and we were behind 3 groups and would have to wait for each to play EACH HOLE. no one on the course policing pace either. We quit after 12 holes as we’d been there nearly 4 hours at that point. Went to the pro shop to complain and no one was even there. It was awful.

I will not play this course on a busy day ever again.

Played this course with a buddy and it was in really good condition. Even with a 15 minute wait b/c of rain, we played the course in just under 4 hours. The fairways and greens were in great shape and you could tell they were cared for. After the round, we grabbed a late lunch, with my buddy having the cheesesteak and I had the club sandwich and fries. Everything was great! Definitely a beautiful course worth checking out!

This course has been in horrible shape for at least the last 3 years. Barren fairways, poor greens, very poor directions to get from hole to hole. Our travel group has crossed this course off our list..

Now that construction on the front 9 is finished, this course is in much better shape than the last several years. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape. There are a couple holes on the back 9 that still need some work (such as one large sand trap on a hole on the back 9 that isn't filled in), but overall, excellent value for the money. The course has really cool views as well looking over three mile island. The staff are friendly and the club house is nice in comparison to others in the area. Hope it stays this way for the season, will definitely be back.

Only complaint is that the fairway on number 12 just beyond the pond, and 18 approaching the gully, are each a mess with mud and ruts. Number 12 fairway is only place on the course where I chunked a ball due to soft conditions, and I actually couldn’t find my ball in the mud and soft turf on 18. It must have plugged.

The course has a very playable layout for the average golfer. It's early in the year but the pace of play should be observed when two holes are open in front of a group holding up play.

Bad... score cards do not have proper yardage. 6th hole is short par 4, score card says 410 yr par 5.

Score cards have no yardage or ratings for gold tees. None of the staff knew why ????

Score cards say nothing about the weird 18th hole.

3rd year in a row I have been here and 3rd year in a row the course was in poor condition.

Sunset used to be one of my favorite course but it has become much less since they removed most of the trees on the front 9, apparently due to the airport's request. It's still a decent course.

The back nine was pretty muddy with lots of uneven grass and/or deep rutted holes. I understand Sunset does get a lot of deer travelling through the course at night and perhaps with the mud, they created the poor conditions. It was nearly impossible to not be hitting out of a hole.

Definitely the course was beat up by the winter and hasn't recovered yet.

Greens rolled nice, the course was under staffed and the range was not open. I guess the range does not open until April. The course was a little wet and cart path only on the back. The course was dry enough that cart path only seemed a little over cautious.

Wet weather decimated this course. Tremendous layout & mountaintop views, BUT, tees and greens in horrible condition. Several fairways and areas of the rough were barren & in need of grass. Hopefully the fall weather will allow more overseeding & growth.

Kudos to the staff at Sunset GC for getting the course back to reasonable conditions after almost a foot of rain over the previous week. Although there were still some "swampy" areas, the fairways and greens were in nice condition. The teen times are spread out sufficiently so you're not on top of the group in front and not getting pushed from behind.

Nice course . Greens little slow due to rain. Fair views in good condition. Would like to play when coursexdries out
