Sunset Golf Course

There are beautiful sights to be seen at this course. You can view the Susquehanna River and HIA from the first green. Planes often fly over the course providing a cool atmosphere. The course itself allows you to hit many shots, and driver is not always the prudent play off of the tee. A very cool feature is the tee shot on Hole 10 which involves a very elevated tee that drops down to a fairway some 200 feet below.

Sunset is an interesting course, whose most noteworthy feature is that several of the holes (especially the first) are on direct glide path to Harrisburg International. Planes come flying in low, right over your head. This sounds like a potential distraction, but it is actually pretty cool. The course itself is well maintained and the greens are nice and fast. The course is on the short side by today's standards, but the use of dog legs makes it a shot makers course. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, and the cost is very reasonable. Even though I live 40 minutes away, I make sure to play it several times each year.

Tees, fairways and greens in excellent condition and its environment is very pleasing. Design of course has its challenges, but birdies are not impossible. A most enjoyable round.

Off the first tee, through the 2nd tee the runway for MBT is clearly visible. Today, very, very big military jets were taking off - almost 25 by the time the round was over - very different. The view of the Susquehanna River were dramatic as well. Nice layout, well maintained with more elevation change on the back than the front. A good round overall.

Greens looked good, Tee boxes rough but expected for this time of year. The views from this course are spectacular. The staff is more than helpful with a great snack bar. From start to finish you will love each and every hole.

Loved playing the course! My first time at Sunset and I will be back. I`ve never seen an elevated mirror before, ( TO SEE THE GROUP AHEAD OF YOU OVER THE HILL). Hole 10 was an eye opener--great fun. Great facilities. I`ve also never experienced being hit by the wing vortices coming off the big jets. One of my top ten weird events.

I have played Sunset about 5 times now...it's always in nice shape and has some great views of the river. It's a somewhat open layout so it is forgiving, but there are some nice elevation changes that make it tough at times. This is a nice value course and everyone should check it out one time or another.

First time playing this course. The views are spectacular over TMI and the runway strip. Fairways and greens were in great shape and had no issues with divots or bald spots. Only problem I had was the greens were cut very short which made them very fast and the breaks were off due to this. Great course for the price!

The course is good for the average golfer who doesn't knock it down the middle all the time. It has some water that comes into play on some holes.It has elevation changes. Some holes take some shot planning. All in all it is a very nice course. Makes for an enjoyable round of golf.

This course is always in great shape and is challenging. Scenery is beautiful and we even saw a flock of Wild Turkeys on the course while playing on Hole # 2

While many holes will let you hit driver off of the tee, the course layout makes you feel like you are playing 18 different holes that require 18 different second and third shots. The course plays rather open, allowing for grace for the average player. The rough is not overly high, but the course was still in good shape with minimal rough spots on the fairways or greens. A great course for the price!

10, the par four drop hole is great. You will want to rip away at the drive but keep it left!

Everything was well maintained , but play was pretty slow.

I've played this course a number of times and usually score pretty good here. I was playing very well on the front 9 but my neck issues didn't hold up and the pain reduced my back 9 to a sub par finish.

It is a rolling course with usually big greens. The greens are average speed and not overly hard to read. I tend to hurry too much and not study the subtle breaks enough to pick them all up.

Number 10 is a beautiful hold that goes straight down and dog legs at the end to the right. A very strong drive has a chance to clear the trees and reach the green (or near it). Number 13 goes straight up the hill, usually into a breeze making it a long hole to an elevated greens where balls are hard to stop. Number two is very long but doesn't seem to play as long as the card indicates if your drive gets to the top of the hill looking down at the green.

one of the nicest courses I have played for the cost of the round. The course is well maintained and the greens are excellent! It was well worth the trip out there, and the staff is super friendly.

Course was in great shape, very well maintained. You can tell the grounds crew care about the course. Back 9 was still a little wet from rain the previous night so cart path only on back. Other than that, perfect.

As seniors, we played the gold tees. The course was great condition. For us short ball strikers, most of the holes were within reach in regulation. Variety of different holes with several with elevation changes. The course is located in view of the Susquehanna River and many great vistas. Only big downside is that the course is on the landing path of airplanes landing at Harrisburg Intl. Airport.
