Great layout, reasonably priced
Belong to a local CC but play this public course multiple times each year. Course is well maintained, greens reasonably fast, for the most part the holes have a great appearance and some very picturesque. Golf shop has what you need and food and beverage more than sufficient. Highly recommend for a quick round.
Fair but Nice
This course was fair but challenging. I have been there twice in the last 2 weeks. I am going for the third time in a row this week, so that should tell you how much I like this course. 2nd time around I shot a 78. I'll take given it's only my third time breaking 80 and I just started 4-5 months ago. This may end up being a home course for me...
Fantastic Experience
This course is very challenging and you need to watch were you line up yourself. Greens fast and sometimes hardb to read..
the snack area has great food, alcohol and great service everyone is kind and courteous.
A great experience.
Nice Fall Day
It was a cool but sunny day. They were out blowing the leaves off the course. The greens and tees were in good shape. Some of the fairways were muddy due to the large amount of rain we had recently.
Challenging for the casual golfer.
This course is always in good shape it seems. I go at least 3 times per year. It's challenging but not overly so as to make you want to quit haha...seems to be a bit less crowded but far better than the one two miles down the road. I would certainly recommend this course to anyone.
Very slow,, greens and tees are very close
This is a very tight course, the greens and tees butt up against each other on several holes and fairways are easy to cross over. The day we played there was "cart path only" due to heavy rain the day before, not the courses fault but it was very slow play and not a lot of golf etiquette was observed. im not going back anytime soon
Sunday loop
We played 18 after a day of rain! Wasn't expecting much but the course was in awesome shape! The greens help, they were slightly slower due to the rain but was a welcome change! Finished round in 4 hrs and 10 min due to a twosome in front of us! I would recommend playing this track!
Greens
Just a bit closer cut on the greens and This course would be Very Good! Not Oakmont fast but faster please! Enjoyable round!
about those greens
Service is always great. Course conditions were good. Pace of play for a Saturday was acceptable. Then there were the greens. Please cut and roll the greens. My family room carpet was faster. All the members of my foursome weren't missing putts because of direction or break. We were missing them because you almost had to take a full backswing to get them to the hole. Please cut the greens!!
Nice Course
Course has some challenging dog legs and bunkers and water features; is not overly difficult. A good course for Advanced beginner golfer.
Nice little course in Muysville
Played there for the first time in many years. The course did not change much. Fairways, rough were in good shape (spring time), greens were rolling nice but a bit slow. Most impressed by the bunkers. I got into 4 of them and all played identically (good amount and quality of sand, which is very rare for a public course). The layout is average (a few blind tee shots) but OK. Will return soon. $35 looks fair for this kind of course with a cart.
Great course
The course was in excellent condition especially for the fall season
well kept course
been here many times. nice place for a round of golf
Good course for the money
Don't hit a driver into ever par 4 or even 5 but it's still a challenging course. Really fun par 3s. Nice fairways and greens. Just hope it's not a busy day...took us 5 hours to get thru 18 holes.
Great
Love this course, very clean, well kept greens. Every hole is different so great variety. I'm new to the golf game so this course challenged me but could be very fun to the more experienced player. Sort of pricey but worth it.
Meadowink Golf Course
Booked on golf now. Excellent deal. Golf carts are clean and very new. Nice coolers to keep drinks cold. Extremely friendly staff and beautiful club house. Will be going again soon. Greens were in excellent condition, considering all of the recent rain.
Number 1 Priorty is Green and I don't mean the Course
I went golfing with my girlfriend during the day on a Friday. It was a holiday for some and a nice day so it was fairly crowded. We called and reserved a tee time and showed up about 10 minutes early.
Our first issue was with the coupon we purchased online through their website. It should have been scannable at their pro shop where you pay, however, the gentleman didn't know how to scan it so we were charged full price. That was a red flag, but we moved on, figuring we could use the coupon some other time this summer. We were told they were out of carts and we'd have to wait for someone to finish up. We went to our car to grab our equipment and when we got back a foursome had somehow slipped in front of us. This was annoying since we booked out time and would play quicker than a foursome but we weren't in any rush.
The first nine went fairly well. We had to wait to tee off on each hole because of the foursome in front of us and people in front of them. However, as I said we weren't in a rush, we were out to have fun and enjoy the day. There were people behind us as well - at least 2-3 groups that we could see that would sometimes wait behind us as we began to tee off as the foursome in front of us played along.
At the turn we took a quick break to go to the bathroom and moved on to the tenth hole. At this point, there wasn't anyone behind us - those that were behind us must have only been playing nine. By the time we were on the green at 13, we had people behind us teeing off.
We were putting on the green at 14 when a ranger parked behind us, and walked up to the green. While I was putting he told us we needed to speed up and that "the whole course is backed up behind us and no one is in front of us". We looked back and the people directly behind us weren't even finished putting on the previous green. I said "okay, understood". He continued to linger around and said we were not playing fast enough. We needed to play double par and move on - mind you we were playing a max of 8 strokes even on the par 5s. He still stood there. I said okay again. He finally rode off.
At this point my girlfriend and I were upset for being scolded like children when we did nothing wrong. We played through the next hole quickly and decided to call it a day and head home. We wanted to enjoy ourselves and felt we were treated very rudely.
Clearly this course prioritizes money and quick turnover above all else. Luckily, we have other favorite courses in the area - we simply wanted to try a new one. We will not be back to Meadowink again with all the other great courses run by friendly people in southwestern Pennsylvania.
Not bad. Played on a wet day. Don't go after a rainy day!
We went to this course the day after a torrential downpour. I mean, we weren't expecting the course to be dry but maybe a little drier than what was actuslly the case. The course was soaked. It was about 15 hours after the last rain which shows the course didn't have great drainage. Overall, I think if the course was dry it would be an amazing course to play in. Until then, I leave my review at this. I have played plenty of courses in the area after torrential downpours and the drainage was amazing.
Country club attitude at a very average public course
This was my second time playing meadowink and I will never go back. It started with the Ranger saying to my group that we need to pick it up, we finished that hole and waited 5 minutes on the next tee box. I would have understood if we were playing slow for him to say something, but not when you hurry up to wait. it was a slow day on the course i understand that obviously the ranger didn't. The reason I think he said something is bc there was a group of regulars behind us and we think he made a comment to the ranger. I guess that is what you get when you go to Murrysville area. Just very unprofessional and greens were the bumpiest slowest greens i have played all year. The funny part about that is the starter was raving about how unbelievable the greens are. If you live in the Murrysville area drive an extra 15-20 minutes to play a real course.
A much better day than I expectd
There had been some wet weather in the area for a couple of days and was hesitant to even play. However, once we arrived at the course the weather started to clear and it turned out to be a nice day. The course was wet in some areas but they allowed 90 degrees anyway. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in good shape. We finished in about 3hours and 45 minutes. Over all the course was in very good shape and it turned out to be a much better round than I expected going into it.
