Northampton Valley Country Club
About
Northampton Valley Country Club, proudly owned by Northampton Township, the golf course first opened in 1963. It is well known among locals as one of the Greater Philadelphia area's best courses. The layout has a classic design with tree-lined fairways and gently sloped greens. Several strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and there are a few water hazards that come into play as well. The par-70 golf course is a manageable 6,400 yards from the back tees. It's a traditional design that is player friendly enough for all skill levels but there are risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to low handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Northampton Valley has a driving range with new range balls which is open to the public and a 10,000 sq. ft. practice green with a pristine sand trap for patrons to work on their short game.

Highly recommended and a great test of golf
The course was in very good condition from tee to green and was a pleasure to play. The fairways were well very maintained and almost like a private course. The greens were excellent and consistent from hole to hole and greatly helped my putting game. The course has enough hills, valleys, water and trees to make it a very interesting and challenging test of golf. My only issue was that the bunkers were somewhat inconsistent yet still very playable. The 18th hole is a great long par 3 finishing hole over a large lake. I can't wait to play this course again!
Great value
Northampton Golf course is in great shape. The greens run very true and the conditions of fairway and rough are excellent.
Nice course but very slooooow!!!!
This was the first time I'd played there in a couple years. I always enjoyed the course.
One thing that I was suspect of when I made the tee time is that they have 8 minute intervals for there tee times.
As a result of this, we were waiting on every shot from our approach into the first green through about hole 9. We started to see some separation amongst the groups on the back 9. On 14 or 15 (the par 5), the ranger politely asked us to pick up the pace. Fine no problem. However, be the time we reached the next tee box, (a par 3), we were waiting again, which continued through the end of the round. This alone, gives me no reason to want to come back.
As a side, we teed off before 7:00 am, so there couldn't have been to many golfers on the course.
The course itself was in good shape and is an interesting enough layout. The front is the easier of the two nines by far. The greens were fast and the ball was rolling true.
Also, drinking water on the course is dispenses through fountains. There weren't many. The water wasn't very cold, and a number of the water fountains leaked, which made it difficult to fill a water bottle. We never saw a cart girl.
We got a hot deal from golf now, so our green feels were low. I certainly wouldn't pay full price to play there and unless I knew I was playing during a time when I knew the course was empty, I wouldn't go back.
Good deal on Golfnow
Course layout is above average. Condition is always nice. But prime time rate is too high for the course. Only will play here on Golfnow deals,
Nice place!
Had an enjoyable day. Pace of play was good and the greens were in excellent condition!
great course...slow play
The course was in excellent shape. Excellent greens, nice fairways good design. Course is a little short but there are some challenging holes. The only complaint is that this course crams people in. There was a wait on every hole. I even had a group of 6 people playing in front of me. I would come back to this course but ill make sure i book one of the first few tee times
Average course
If you are looking for something spectacular this is not your place. But for the price on Memorial Day weekend it wasn't bad. The ground was very hard and it was tough to take a proper divot or spin the ball on the green. As for pace of play we got stuck behind a group that was horribly slow and did not let us pass them in a timely manner. By the time they let us pass them we did not see another group in front of us (that's how far behind they were). The staff was friendly but they were way understaffed. This when we took the turn we had to go find the last at the bar so we could get something to drink as they did not have water on the course. I may not play it again but if you are looking for a cheap round of golf in the area this place isn't a horrible place to play. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
best conditioned
This is a comfortable moderate length public course that is probably one of the best conditioned courses in Bucks County. It provides challenge without being a long course and the holes vary and call for a lot of different shots. The negative can be pace of play. Part is due to design with two par threes in the first five holes and part is due to packing in tee times too tight sometimes. Overall it is worth visiting but call ahead as there are leagues M-Th through the season.
Great course
This is a great course with a good layout. I just wish they would mention they airated their greens and they had holes all over them with sand.
Bumped for no reason
I had a 12:30 tee time on Sunday booked through Golfnow and while waiting and I overheard I had been moved. I went into the pro shop to inquire about the move and the guy said the 3 some I was paired with showed up with 4. The course had moved me BACK, not up 2 spots. So I arrive early. Check in and pay, check in with the starter like I am supposed to and my reward is to be bumped back? The guy told me they could send me out alone. I wasn't asking for that, I was asking them to honor the tee time I had. The 4 some who did NOT follow the rules gets rewarded with the tee time like it was nothing. No wonder this happens all the time. It's because they allow it, so people take advantage. There are plenty of courses to play within a 5 mile radius. I won't be back to this course.
Terrible pace of play tarinishes an otherwise decent course
First time trying this place and certainly the last, which is disappointing because the staff were relatively friendly, the course was actually in great condition for the time of year, and it had a few fun holes. However, the pace of play at this place is absurd, and they clearly don't care whether their customers get a full round in or not. We showed up 25 minutes early and didn't tee off until almost 25 minutes after our tee time. Waited several minutes at almost every tee box, with some even being two groups deep. Ended up playing 14 holes in 4.5 hours and having to quit due to darkness. They are obviously just in the business of cramming as many people as possible onto their course with no regard for whether the course can handle it or not. I'm happy to take my money elsewhere and you should be too.
great value from golf now
Course was in great condition for December, there was an outing on course as we teed off but never affected play. Golf now deal was well worth it.
Nice course
Some interesting holes. Greens were in good shape. Fun to play.
Fast greens, some standing water
Course was in good shape, greens were fast and subtle. Maintenance guys were a bit of a hassle and there was a fair amount of standing water from rain earlier in the week.
Beautiful Sunday
Beautiful course, great pace of play, greens in great condition. We look forward to playing the course again.
Perfect course
Great layout very very well maintained
Great drainage after heavy rain fall.
great conditions and improved challenges
I have played here many times. We have also had our company outing here a couple of times. The tea boxes fairways and greens were in great shape for this time of year and when compared to the majority of courses in the area. Some hazard areas have been removed or cleared to improve the play on those holes. Other hazard areas have been added to make the hole play more challenging but fair.
Good Value
The course was being aerated so not in top condition. The foursome in front of us were pretty slow and there were no marshall's to keep the pace. I finally had to call the Pro shop to get a marshall to have a talk with a woman who was hitting down on us and finally went ahead of us on a hole, the guy handled it well and she was made to go back to the hole she was suppose to be on.
We played late in the day & it was practically empty.
As a twosome, we had no one in front or behind us since we teed off late in the day and were able to finish in a little over 3 hours. Perfect!
