Great Shape for this time of year
Course played excellent. Fairways were in great shape, especially in comparison to some other courses this time of year. Overall this course is pretty short, with 6 par 3's, a par 5 you can reach in 2 and 2 par 4's that(if you're straight) you can drive the green. The greens themselves played beautifully, with challenging undulations and height changes. Almost every green had pretty significant break in it. Will be playing this course again.
Nice Little Course
This course is one of my favorites. Its a short course but has some challenging holes nonetheless. I have played it roughly 10 times in the past year alone. They usually run some great afternoon hot deals that make it well worth getting out.
I played yesterday with my friend & wife. The course was in great shape. The greens and fairways were very well maintained. I was expecting the course to be pretty soggy considering all the rain we got Saturday night but it drained pretty well by our 2:00pm tee time. The pace of play was excellent. I am not sure if the course was just empty because most people were home watching football or what but we teed off at 2 & were in the car ride home by 5:40. And we are not great golfers by any stretch. I am about a 13 handicap,my friend is a 20+ and my wife just started playing this year so we were hitting our fair share of shanks. The course has a little vintage feel to it & I like that.
Overall I would recommend this course to anyone. It is not a long course, so if you are looking to boom it down the fairway--you won't get the chance too often here. Its more for accurate shot placement in lieu of distance. But for the hot deal prices they are usually always running, it is definitely worth a play.
No crowds. Great staff.
I am not an experienced golfer. For my son and I this was a great course. I will be back.
Interesting back 9
The back 9 holes are interesting enough to keep playing, some of the greens need real attention ..for example hole-10.. Full of leaves on the green...
Hole-15.. Full of birds and their left overs
well maintained compared to others this summer
There was grass, and a lot of it! So many of the courses I've played this summer in the area have had trouble with the rains, so the fairways are all eaten up, and the greens in shoddy shape. Ingleside has a few bare patches here and there, but I had no balls lie on dirt my whole game. That was a nice change! So well maintained.
You Will use Every Club in Your Bag...FUN!
Ingleside has always been a "Staple" must play course for me. It only has 2 par 5's...BUT they are wonderful as you can't see either green from the tee boxes, and take 3 Good shots to get on the greens. All the par 3's are very challenging, and keep your "approach" game tuned up. The par 4's will use most of the clubs in your bag. I have played Every course in Chester County, both Public and Private, and have found Ingleside to be one of the funnest, non pressure play experiences in the area.
Short and Unique
If you are looking to air out your driver, this is not the course for you. Very short, but with some very interesting holes if you like using irons off the tee and placing shots.
Water comes into play on several holes, many angled fairways, a 100 yard par 3 with an elevation drop of about 60-80 ft., you'll feel like you can almost putt it off the tee.
The course weaves through an apartment complex and definitely needs some upkeep... but not bad enough to avoid unless you are country club bred.
I enjoyed the round...
Good Course
Ingleside is a good course at a fair price. There are spots that haven't been maintained very well but fairways, approaches, and greens are fine. I play here once every two weeks.
Good until we got backed up
Fun course. Offers some challenging obstacles and terrain. The course was soggy from all the rain, so any damaged areas were no fault of the staff, just a consequence of the weather. It's a fun course to play from time to time... It will get old though, so don't overdo it here.
Ingleside is a convenient course for me to play.
Ingleside is a local course in my neighborhood. I played it occasionally. Because of its convenience. Maintenance is okay on the course. And the staff is cordial. I will return to play Ingleside because of its location.
Good course for the Golfnow.com value
We were a Threesome at 2:40pm day after 4th of July. The course was packed since it was a beautiful day. Never saw a ranger the entire time out there which would have been nice to move play along. Took 4 hours should have been more like 3.15-3.5 hours. With cart the fees were $33 per person which I find very reasonable. Course was restricted to cart-path mostly due to the severe rain we had over the last 10 days.
Great course for a great price.
Great course with some challenging holes. Even with some flooding storms the past couple of days the course was in great condition. Staff is always friendly.
Great affordable course
If your looking for a course to cut your teeth this is a great one. Not the longest course out there but still just as challenging. If you have trouble with accuracy this course will quickly call you out on it. Friendly staff. Great place to play with friends. The people are way nicer then you would find locally at Coatesville or Downingtown.
Decent course
Course is in decent shape. Nothing fancy, but an interesting and fun layout.
Play Blues
I play here all the time. It is a very short course, so i suggest playing from the Blue tees to lengthen it and make it a bit more challenging. It has a bunch of par 3's, some that are deceivingly long(#6 & #8). The first is a driveable par 4. Greens are always just right. Some of the tee boxes are ehh. The course is always in good/great condition, even in the cold months and wet days. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Beware of #10, a 99 yd par 3 that plays 40 yds because it is about a 75 ft drop; dont take it lightly.
Great price, okay course
Course is short, 5200+/- yards. It's in modest shape as of the middle of April. Staff was friendly and accomodating enough. No complaints, will go again. But mostly because it's close.
Great value
Played on a 45 degree day. Conditions were pretty good given that it rained hard for a few days before. Played alone at 10:40am on a Friday and I didnt see another soul until 17.
Overall I like this course and for $14 it was a great deal. Greens were in good shape for the first days of spring. Pretty quick.
My one complaint with the course is that you dont come back to the clubhouse at the turn. You are are greeted with a dilapidated snack bar with one non-functional vending machine between 9 and 10. Its a shame because if they updated it to have a bar there is a nice view of the 10th green a good 100 feet below the tee box.
Great for short game practice.
This is a local, shorter course and is a lot of fun to play. Rounds tend to be short here, usually 3.5 hours, but i have played sub 3 hour rounds before.
Many holes are shorter in length but offer plenty of trouble to get into. This is a great course to test my short game on as I am left with a wedge or less in, depending on how I am driving that day.
Some uphill par 3's will test you, but there are some fun ones with nice settings and one with a drastic elevation change. Definately a course I will frequent during the year.
Good confidence builder
As others have said, the course is short so relatively easy but no piece of cake. With the limited distance the design stil gives challenges. Played first time in the fog - entertaining. Second time in sunshine and enjoyable. This is January and the course was in nice shape. Greens and fairways were damp and slow as expected in this weather. I found many ball marks on the greens - it seems that not many players seem to care to take care of the course.
don't let the length fool you!!!
While the card reads short don't under estimate this tricky little course. Different looks and design features require you to use every club in your bag. This course should be a part of your regular cycle. Its excellent condition, views and challenging play make this course a real winner.
